“I know they’re not healthy but I couldn’t live without it”: Even the 2022 Mr Olympia Classic Physique Winner Chris Bumstead Can’t Kick These Foods Out of His Diet
Chris Bumstead is a Canadian bodybuilder and multiple record holder in the bodybuilding community. His loyal fan base calls him CBum lovingly. Chris Bumstead is the reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion and has won the competitions in 2019, 2020, and 2021 consecutively. Being in the body-building industry he has to follow a rigid pattern of diet and workout routine. Although, following a routine is good but sometimes it is necessary to take a chill pill and do what the heart wants. Bumstead also believes in this notion.
In a recent “Q and A” video on YouTube, he answered the question “You only get to eat 3 foods for life, what are they?”

Bumstead answered the very hard question with three meals–Stir-fry, pancakes, and sandwiches.
Chris Bumstead smartly chose stir-fry as it has a lot of options under its umbrella. The bodybuilder said he could eat chicken and rice stir fry in “every meal of every day”. He would also love it if gets to experiment with different kinds of sauces with it.
Bumstead chose pancakes next and stated he could make a healthy version of them during the season. He could incorporate the bland and easy-to-digest recipe into his diet whenever he pleases. The bit unhealthy one with a lot of syrup is for the off-season. That way the calories remain adjusted and everyone stays happy, truly a win-win situation.
Third, he chose sandwiches, no one can go wrong with sandwiches. The reason he chose sandwiches, is he believes it would be great if tacos also get into the category. Sandwiches are Chris Bumstead’s favorite thing to eat in his off-season.

Chris Bumstead’s Mr Olympia Diet
CBum’s diet mainly comprises 6 meals and approximately 6,500 calories per day when he is preparing for any tournament. For a athlete a balanced diet is equally important as the workout routine if to more so.
Here’s a short list of his normal day diet.
- Meal 1: Breakfast comprises of 230 grams of egg whites and ketchup and , 3 whole eggs and some potatoes to go with it
- Meal 2: He prefers spinach, rice, and chicken breast his pre workout meal .
- Meal 3: For his post workout meal sweet potatoes, chicken breasts, and bananas are in the menu.
- Meal 4 consists of rice,chicken breast, stir-fried vegetables.
- Meal 5: Sweet potatoes, avocadoes, and chicken breast
- Meal 6: Plain and simple salmon and rice.
Plus proteins shakes are must in his routine.
A balanced diet and a proper work out routines really goes a long way in shaping a athletes health and performance. There is on short cut to it is all about effort and consistency and Chris Bumstead is in no position to back down.
