“I should be embarrassed by being so flat chested”: Florence Pugh Took No Prisoners After Shamed for ‘Tiny T-ts’ Comments as Marvel Star Fires Back at Critics
Florence Pugh has never shied away from being gutsy where it counts, and her adventurous career is quite a testament to that. She opened up about her gutsy fashion choices with Vogue as she stars on its latest winter issue cover. The Midsommar actress discussed her controversial hot pink sheer Valentino gown that she wore for the luxury brand’s Haute Couture show in July 2022. The dress was particularly ‘controversial’ because of its see-through nature.
Florence Pugh is not shy about baring it all
In the winter issue of Vogue, Florence Pugh talked about the sheer Valentino gown,
“I’ve never been scared of what’s underneath the fabric… If I’m happy in it, then I’m gonna wear it. Of course, I don’t want to offend people, but I think my point is: How can my nipples offend you that much?”
Addressing her trolls, the Little Women actress said,
“It’s very important that we do this. I know that some people might scoff at me saying that, but if a dress with my br*asts peeking through is encouraging people to say, ‘Well, if you were to get raped, you would deserve it,’ it just shows me that there’s so much more work to do.”
Quite a powerful statement from the Academy Award nominee.
Florence Pugh’s message to her trolls and body-shamers
The Midsommar actress had also commented on this misogynistic social stance in an Instagram post back in 2022. The caption read,
“It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be.
She went on to shun the people who body-shamed her, saying,
“So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny tits’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested’. I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my br*ast size and am not scared of it.”
The Black Widow actress claimed to be quite a humble soul, as she shared with Vogue for its winter issue,
“Yes, I can put makeup on and look good for a premiere. But at the end of the day, I still have hair on the top of my lip and I still smell after a workout and I still get spots when I’m stressed.”
Ten points to Pugh for being a real and relatable one here.
