Being actors themselves, they knew it was a tough industry where getting good roles was extremely difficult. Making it big in Hollywood is a dream for various actors, but only a few see it to the top. Reminiscing the beginning of her career, Jennifer Aniston said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,

“I waitressed for years in New York before I got anything. And I was a telemarketer selling timeshares in the Poconos. I didn’t make one sale. I was terrible at it. I was like, ‘Why do we have to call people at dinnertime?”

Moreover, when she did start getting roles, Aniston found it harder to do what she liked to do. The roles were mainstream with little creative freedom that could give Aniston the chance to shine bright and showcase her true talent.

John Aniston and Nancy Dow have worked in Hollywood for many years, known for their work in Days of our Lives and Ice House respectively. Aniston’s father particularly did not want his daughter to be heartbroken and go through the stress of rejection. She revealed to Collider,

“I just had this deep feeling in my gut that somehow something was going to happen, and I just had to be patient. I was hell-bent because my dad was just begging me not to be in the industry. He said, “I do not want your heart broken. The rejection is brutal. Please, please, please don’t do that. Become a lawyer.” That was my one rebellion. I was hoping that I was going to make it so that I could prove him wrong. I just kept going. I’m happy he made that claim that he didn’t want me to do it.”

Nevertheless, Jennifer Aniston has been in the industry for many years with a diverse filmography to her name. She has won numerous awards and proved her mettle in Hollywood.
