‘I was the worst receptionist they’ve ever had’: The View’s Joy Behar Says She Was Fired From ‘Good Morning America’ For Being Unprofessional
TV host Joy Behar revealed that she was once fired from Good Morning America due to poor performance. Behar, who has been a co-host on ABC’s daytime talk show The View for a very long time now explained why she was fired from Good Morning America on Friday’s episode. The episode featured Kumail Nanjiani, who was invested in her story. She told the actor about the “goodbye present” she got after she got removed from the show. However, later she revealed that she was glad that she was fired from the show as she was sick of it. She joined The View in 1997.
Joy Behar was fired from Good Morning America
On Friday’s episode of ABC’s talk show, The View, Joy Behar revealed that she was fired from Good Morning America because of her poor performance, as a receptionist. She began by saying, “First of all, I’d like to say that when I was fired from Good Morning America years ago.” Then the guest on the show, actor Kumail Nanjiani, was shocked and wanted to know more about the story. She further added, “I was the worst receptionist they’ve ever had!”
The co-host told everyone about the “goodbye present“
Joy Behar further told the actor about a special “goodbye present” that she got after she was fired from the show. She said, “So I was fired, and they took me to Chippendales as my goodbye present,” and added that she participated in all that the male striptease show has to offer, including “put[ting] the money in the guys’, you know, thingy.” She added, “It’s fabulous!” Kumail Nanjiani stars in the Hulu miniseries, Welcome to Chippendales. Even her co-host Sunny Hostin agreed and added, “Chippendales is a fun place!”
Joy Behar is glad she got fired
Behar then told the actor that she is very familiar with Chippendales. The actor then said, “So that was a good and bad day for you. You lost a job, but you gained so much more.” Earlier this year the TV host revealed that she is glad she was fired from the show. She told TIME magazine, “I was glad to be fired. I basically was sick of the show at that point for some reason. I don’t even remember why.” She has been a part of ABC’s The View since 1997 except in 2013 when she was fired but later joined the show again.
