The Brazilian supermodel was not happy with her ex-husband’s decision to return to his NFL team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The star played announced his retirement in February 2022. However, just 40 days after his retirement, Brady declared his return for the 2022 NFL season. This allegedly led to issues between the couple and ended with their separation.
The Real Reason Gisele Bundchen Filed For Divorce
Things seem to be going well for Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady as the couple had been married for 13 years. During these 13 years of marriage, Bundchen took care of her children and family, and Brady was almost always busy with his game. And Brady finally decided to spend some quality time with his wife and kids after he announced his retirement in 2022.
Soon after this, the ex-couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on 26 February 2022. Gisele Bundchen who always had to take care of everything herself was happy to have Brady by her side. However, things did not go as planned, after the star player announced his return for the 2022 NFL season.
Gisele Bundchen, who left her modeling career for her family, has said that her family and her kids have been her first priority. “I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I’ve always wanted to have a family. And that was, you know when I became a mother, it really became my priority,” the Brazilian supermodel said.
However, it was not the same for her ex-husband. The Tampa Bay player’s top priority has always been his football career. After Brady announced his retirement, Bundchen hoped that his husband would finally focus on his family. But, followed by his return she had a hard time accepting that Tom Brady would ever put anything or anyone above his football career.
While some fans are happy for the Brazilian model, not everyone seems to be supportive of her decision. Tom Brady fans are accusing her of being selfish and ruining his life.
Gisele Bundchen Said Her Marriage is Not a Fairy Tale
Many claimed that divorce was not something that came up all of sudden. Brady has always prioritized his career. The Brazilian supermodel also shared that most of the time, her ex-husband used to be busy with his practice.
During a candid interview with British Vogue, she explained why raising a family with Tom Brady was not a fairy tale for her. Bundchen explained that while Brady focuses on his career, she is mostly busy with children.
During the interview, she also shared, “It’s never the fairy tale people want to believe it is. It takes work to be really in sync with someone, especially after you have kids.” Bundchen also shared that there was a time they were not able to agree on a decision.
But she continued to support her ex-husband. She said, “I just wanted to be there for my children and to be there for my husband too, because for him to have a space to live what he loves so much.” Gisele Bundchen also said that she was also doing something that she loves, “which is being a mom and nurture and taking care” of her family.
While she did support her ex-husband throughout his career, she was disappointed when he choose his football career over his family.
