Acclaimed actor Jeremy Allen White played the role of a young chef in the Emmy-winning The Bear and became this year’s summer breakout. He recently revealed something, that might surprise the High School Musical fans.
Jeremy Allen White has never watched Zac Efron’s High School Musical, which rose the actor to stardom. After co-starring with Efron, White has agreed to watch the trilogy on one condition: if the Neighbors star holds his hand throughout. The Movie 43 star has been highly praised for portraying Carmy, who’s an incredible and determined young chef.
Jeremy Allen White Never Watched Zac Efron’s High School Musical
Despite co-starring with Zac Efron in Iron Claw, Jeremy Allen White revealed to had never watched one of his notable films the High School Musical. Efron played the iconic and fan-favorite character Troy Bolton, who’s also one of the leading cast members. Soon after High School Muscal was released, the 17 Again actor rose to stardom and is now considered a renowned actor in the entertainment world.
Jeremy Allen White being unaware of the thrill and legacy of the rom-com seems a bit surprising. However, he has mentioned watching the trilogy only on one condition, and while talking about his projects and acting career, during an interview with Variety, he said:
“I haven’t seen them. Sorry, Zac. I will watch them. I will. Only if Zac holds my hand throughout, that’s how we’ll get it done.”
White’s lighthearted words captured the moment, as he continued to talk about his most recent movie. Zac Efron is often regarded as a chameleon for transforming his exceptional looks for various projects, and this time he did it for the ongoing movie The Iron Claw. From horror to epic war drama, Efron has come a long way, and this time stepping into the ring to portray Kevin Von Erich. The film revolves around the Von Erich wrestling family and the unfortunate Von Erich curse that led to the death of the wrestlers.
Jeremy Allen White Feared Zac Efron While Preparing for The Iron Claw
Since Zac Efron stepped into the world of acting, he has landed numerous notable roles in movies like Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, 17 Again, and many other projects. The actor has recently starred in Sean Durkin’s The Iron Claw, released two days back. The cast members include Efron, Allen White, and Harris Dickinson as the Von Erich brothers. The family faced a series of tragedies, leading to the deaths of the brothers.
However, Kevin Von Erich turned out to be the only one who survived among the six brothers and to portray this role, Efron had to work out and eat a substantial amount of food. While talking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jeremy Allen White humorously shared that he “didn’t want to stand near him (Zac Efron)” due to the incredible and huge body Efron had made up while filming.
