“I would atleast do a cameo”: Tobey Maguire’s Co-star Spills the Beans About Sam Rami’s Spider-Man 4
In 2002, actor Tobey Maguire played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film Spider-Man, which went on to become a huge hit and receive favorable reviews from both the audience and the critics. When Maguire got to that point, he was seen as a star in addition to being a great actor.
Reprising his role in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, he also provided the character’s voice for the video game adaptations of the movie. In addition to shocking everyone, the actor’s return as the beloved character in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland made the actor’s ardent MCU fans extremely happy.
Is Tobey Maguire reprising his role as Spider-Man?
Actor Thomas Haden Church, who has appeared as Flint Marko/Sandman in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home, recently spoke to ComicBook and shared that he would very much like to appear in the third Spider-Man (fourth from Sam Raimi) movie if it’s going to happen. He said,
“There’s always been some kind of…I’ve heard rumors…that Sam Raimi was going to do another Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire and if that happens, I would probably campaign to maybe at least do a cameo.”
The director was asked last year if he had any plans to work on the fourth part of the movie, to which he said that he had come to realize after making Doctor Strange that anything is possible in the Marvel Universe. He further added,
“I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”
There has been no confirmation or comment from Marvel Studios addressing Church’s comments about the movie, but surely people would love to see Maguire back in a suit; and with the Multiverse in place, anything is possible.

Tobey Maguire on reprising Spider-Man for No Way Home
The actor appeared as Peter Parker on-screen after fifteen years. But it was known that he always intended to return for the fourth movie, but the creative differences between Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures prevented him from doing so, but Marvel Studios’ No Way Home gave him that chance.
Earlier this year, during an interview, Tobey Maguire said,
“When they called initially, I was like finally! I got the call and was immediately open about coming to do that. Not without nerves – you know, ‘What will this look like and what will the experience be?’ But to get to show up with beautiful, talented, creative people and play together? It’s just like, ‘Yes!” It’s fun and exciting.’”
Tobey Maguire said that he loves the films and all the different series and if they call him up and ask him to show up to hang around or goof up, he would do that. He also said that going back to wearing the costume felt like going home again and he would do that again if asked.
Tom Holland talks about Spider-Man 4
British actor Tom Holland took over the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2016 when he appeared in MCU’s Captain America: Civil War and went ahead to star in his solo Spider-Man movies, starting with Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.
It was followed by sequels 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Holland became the youngest actor to play the character after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and one of the most loved too. It’s hard to say which Spider-Man the audience loves the most, but the audience accepted Holland with open arms and hearts.
While promoting his show, The Crowded Room, Holland spoke about Spider-Man 4 as well, sharing that the story is looking pretty good and there is some stuff going on with it and he is excited for the audience to see what they’ve come up with. He said in an interview,
“I think as long as we can do justice to Peter Parker. As long as we can keep elevating and making the films better and making them mean more, then I’ll be there.”
Tom Holland added further that he would be stupid to say that he wouldn’t be the luckiest kid alive if he got to do it again. The ongoing WGA strike has put a pause on their plans along with Holland’s much-needed acting break. However, there are some rumors that the upcoming movie could deal with the aftermath of the Daredevil: Born Again series.
