British actor Tom Holland has cemented his place in the Hollywood industry. Achieving success as early as 19, Holland became one of his generation’s leading actors. After his role as the web crawler in MCU, the 27-year-old became a household name.

He starred in the Apple TV+ miniseries The Crowded Room. In the series, the English actor portrays a young man who is detained in suspected of committing a terrifying crime. Interviews with a character played by Amanda Seyfried, who is an investigator, expose his multiple personality disorder. Tom Holland revealed the series was a challenge for him. The recently released eighth episode of the series saw Holland in a passionate scene with a male co-star. The Spider-Man actor has broken his silence about the scene.

The eighth episode of the gripping psychological thriller was under the radar due to Tom Holland‘s gay s*x scene. After the release of the episode of The Crowded Room fans took to Twitter to lash out at the 27-year-old star. Some rose in support of the Marvel star. 

However, after facing backlash for the scene, Holland finally broke the silence and provided insights. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor revealed he was not excited to play the character with different sexual preferences.

The Cherry actor said,

“I think it is a first [for me]. It’s not a milestone, though. It’s not something that I’m like, ‘Oh, wow. I got to play my first character with a different sexual preference than I have.’ It’s a little more complicated than that.”

He further confessed that it was essential to tell the story authentically. Holland also revealed he is not worried about himself and what people think of him after the episode. 

The 27-year-old said,

“There’s a Christian Bale quote I saw once, which really changed my life. He said, ‘If you have a problem with me, text me. And if you don’t have my number, you don’t know me well enough to have a problem with me.'”

In the scene, Tom Holland’s character is seen wearing heavy makeup and thick black eyeliner as he enters a club. He starts a dance with a man. Eventually, he and the man go to the toilet for some steamy s*x.

Holland announced he was taking a break from acting after completing the Apple TV+ series. The Uncharted actor admitted how difficult it was for him to shoot the series. He confessed that playing the lead role in the series broke him. He revealed working on the series put an extra level of pressure on him.

The Crowded Room is a dark psychological thriller influenced by a real-life incident that was the basis for the 1981 book The Minds of Billy Milligan.
