“I would have done better”: Owen Wilson Believes His Life Would Have Been Different if He Had Met Loki Co-star Tom Hiddleston Early
One of the gifted actors in the business, Owen Wilson, is best known for his comedic roles and his lengthy collaboration with director Wes Anderson. He has established his talent over the years by starring in films such as Zoolander, Wedding Crashers, The Big Year, The Internship, Marley and Me, and the Night at the Museum series, among others.
The public admires Wilson for his roles on-screen, and right now he is starring as Mobius M. Mobius in the Tom Hiddleston-led Marvel Cinematic Universe series Loki. The actor has received high appreciation from the MCU’s devoted followers for his interpretation of the character, and Owen Wilson had shared a very sweet thing about his co-star. Let’s explore.
Owen Wilson talks about being a part of Loki School
Back in 2021 while promoting the first season of the show, Owen Wilson, during an interview with Capital FM shared that Tom Hiddleston, who plays the lead character on the show, had helped him to learn about his character along with the background. He said,
“We kind of would kid about it, going to Loki school, and Tom was the teacher. And I think if I had had more teachers like Tom I would’ve done better in school because he was very understanding and patient and—it was a long time… I mean the school wasn’t just an hour, it went for a few days. And so he could see sometimes when I’d kind of hit a wall and said, ‘Maybe we’ll pick up here tomorrow.’”
The actor named Tom Hiddleston, teaching at Loki School and learning about the character was essential because Mobius is a member of the Time Variance Authority, because of which he is supposed to know everything about Loki.
Wilson further said that he feels that he got pretty good marks from his Loki School, adding that learning about the character definitely helped with his own character who’s sort of supposed to be kind of an expert on Loki.

Owen Wilson talks about sharing good chemistry with Tom Hiddleston
There is absolutely no doubt that Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson are such great actors who know how to make a scene work, but ardent fans of the MCU are quick to analyze the fact if the characters do not sync together, which did not happen in Mobius and Loki’s case.
Talking about the same, Wilson shared with Extra TV,
“Having worked on buddy cop comedies before and having worked on that sort of dynamic, this isn’t a comedy, but certainly some of the scenes where Tom and I are sort of in a chess match, those felt kind of familiar to me.”
Tom Hiddleston, on his part, said,
“We had a blast. Owen is great, and he’s been doing this for a long time and he has a lot of experience and is so insightful as a writer, and has brought so many great ideas to the table.”
The Loki actor described their duo as chalk and cheese but in a really fun way. The Marvel Boss Kevin Feige also shared his insights with EW on the two characters, as he said,
“Mobius is not unlike Owen Wilson in that he’s sort of nonplussed by the MCU. [Loki] is used to getting a reaction out of people, whether it’s his brother or his father, or the other Avengers. He likes to be very flamboyant and theatrical. Mobius doesn’t give him the reaction he’s looking for. That leads to a very unique relationship that Loki’s not used to.”
Loki is streaming on Disney+.
