Iconic Horror Movie Characters vs. How The Real-Life Actors Look Like
Chances are if you’re an avid big screen viewer, you’re familiar with Freddy Krueger from the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. However, can you identify actor Robert Englund on the street? Whether the evildoer is considered a creature, demon, zombie, or simply an utterly deplorable human being doing terrible things, the audience is often not supposed to identify these characters as people. That being said, these are the 5 iconic horror movie characters vs. how the real-life actors look like –
Sofia Boutella – The Mummy
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) is a movie that continues to baffle audiences worldwide. It wasn’t until the reboot in 2017, starring Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet, that this franchise re-started in earnest, despite enduring negative reception from critics and moviegoers alike. Had it not been for Boutella’s dedication and drive to portray Princess Ahmanet, The Mummy would have ever been released at all is perhaps still up for debate.

Bill Skarsgard – IT
Hiring an actor and making him wear makeup might seem pointless. But Bill Skarsgård played Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s horror story “IT.” This is because he wasn’t just an average Hollywood pretty face. The Swedish actor brought a whole new level to this role, setting his Pennywise apart from the earlier TV version by Tim Curry.
Takako Fuji –The Grudge
The Grudge was a remake of a popular Japanese movie. The movie didn’t have the same impact as its original Japanese version. That is why it turned out to be unambitious and mediocre. The Director of the original source agreed to proceed with an American remake of the film and decided to bring Takoko Fuji on board. She was the one behind the ghost Kayako.

Sheri Moon Zombie – Lords Of Salem
Actress Sheri Moon appears as a recovering drug addict in the Lords of Salem. The actress agreed to have her hair in dreadlocks and undergo the application of getting fake tattoos done every day. Those were just the lengths she went to for her role in this film.
Bonnie Aarons – The Nun
The Nun was a great disappointment to many fans of the Conjuring franchise. The leading lady said that actress Bonnie Aarons, who played the demon Nun, would often jump out and scare her between takes. It sounds like a lot of fun. But we’re pretty sure it took some of the dramatic effects away from the movie. While Aarons didn’t have much makeup on her, it was primarily all painted to save on time.
