In the history of anime, Tokyo Ghoul is considered to have one of the worst anime adaptations. The first two seasons of the anime were well-received and adapted nicely by Studio Pierrot, but after they released the “Re” version, the anime fell off completely.

Fans had mixed opinions about this, but those who have read its manga know how much injustice Pierrot has done to it. The pain of that experience had mostly healed over time, but when Sui Ishida, the creator of Tokyo Ghoul, talked about having an anime adaptation for his new manga, it brought back concern for many fans.

In a recent interview, the creator of Tokyo Ghoul, Sui Ishida was asked if he would like to see an adaptation of Choujin X, to which he responded that he would love to see that happen. However, this doesn’t mean that the anime is already in production. This only shows Ishida’s interest in seeing an anime adaptation of his latest manga.

“Would you like to see a CHOUJIN X Anime?

Sui Ishida: “I’d love to see it…'”

After reading this, Tokyo Ghoul fans had only one concern: not to mess it up like last time. While animating Tokyo Ghoul, Pierrot Studio cut many of the manga’s gory scenes, which the fans didn’t like. So, this time, they want Choujin X to be animated faithfully like its manga.

Fans have one request for the mangaka, they want the anime adaptation to be handled by a good studio. Some fans recommended studios like Mappa and Wit, as they are known for doing justice to manga adaptations, instead of studios like Pierrot which have disappointed them in the past.

Those who have read Choujin X know that it will be a big success if the adaptation is done properly. There haven’t been many horror anime in recent times, so it will be a good choice if studios like Mappa, Wit, Madhouse, or even A-1 Productions decide to animate it.

For those who are unfamiliar, Choujin X began its serialization in May 2021 on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website. It was also serialized in Weekly Young Jump from October 2021 to February 2022. However, due to Ishida’s irregular publishing, they decided to stop its serialization there. The manga has gained popularity among fans of the horror genre. Given its growing fan base, now might be the right time for an anime adaptation.
