The 2005 Fantastic Four was a huge success, despite raining negative reviews. The audience loved the star-studded movie, which included Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon, and Kerry Washington. Made on a budget of approximately $90 million, the movie grossed over $333.5 million at the box office, which was a staggering number. So after Marvel successfully acquired Fox, the rights to the Fantastic Four were also passed to them, and they obviously wanted to recreate that success on screen, especially after so many failures in recent times.

The Fantastic Four will finally be made part of Marvel’s multiverse saga. As time goes by, everyone is more and more curious about the upcoming movie’s cast and crew. Previously, Anya Taylor-Joy was rumored to be playing a gender-swapped Silver Surfer in the film, and that rumor created a storm online. Jodie Comer has been said to be the face of Sue Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four for a long time, and the audience is curious whether this is true. The actress recently opened up about it and acknowledged the rumors flying around.

Jodie Comer speaks up on the rumors of being cast in Fantastic Four as Sue Storm

Recently, Jodie Comer was rumored to be playing Sue Storm, aka. The Invisible Woman, in the upcoming reboot. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Killing Eve actress addressed the rumors and opened up about them:

“It’s so funny because people come up to me — even friends and family — and they’re like, ‘Are you doing X, Y and Z?’ And I’m like, ‘No.’ I’ve always felt very clear on where I want to go, and some rumors that come up may not necessarily be something I’d be interested in right now. But I’d never shoot them down because who knows where I’m going to be or what I might want to do in years to come. People change, their interests change. So it’s always just fascinating, and sometimes, I’m like, ‘Where did they come from?’”

This comment comes almost eight months after her appearance in the Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz, where Jodie Comer expressed her wish to work with the film:

“No, guys, I don’t know anything about it. I feel like when I say this people are like, ‘Okay…’ It’s like, you can’t win either way… I think, ‘Never say never…’ I think, as I said before, like usually when you finish one project, you then want to try something very different, so I don’t know, maybe.”

These rumors have been going around for more than a year. However, there has been no solid proof to back it up.

Who will Marvel cast as Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four?

Although Jodie Comer has been running in the rumor mill in front of every other candidate, there are many who are also being eyed as the potential Sue Storm. The other candidates for Sue Storm include Vanessa Kirby, Margot Robbie, Allison Williams, and Mila Kunis. However, not one of them has been officially approved by Marvel yet.

It is widely speculated that Marvel would choose A-listers as the cast of the Fantastic Four. However, Marvel is always prone to surprising the audience. Many actors from the Marvel universe, like Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt, reached A-list status due to their Marvel casting. So, it might be that Marvel prioritizes good casting over star power and surprises the audience yet again. Also, actors who are new and not that popular yet will have fewer scheduling conflicts for the project to go smoothly.
