He got so strong. I would rather be thrown from a building than have to fight him again. To go up against somebody that fit and that talented and that much younger… It’s brutal, man.

The Last of Us actor  in his interview with Vanity Fair was asked about his reason to say yes to the movie to which he said that apart from Ridley Scott, who he described as a genius, directing the movie, Paul Mescal is one of the reasons why he would put his body through that experience.

Fans of the actor are looking forward to watching him play Reed Richards in MCU’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and during an interview with THR, he mentioned why he said yes to the project.

Mainly, because of the cast that I would be part of. Matt Shakman, the director, has been a longtime friend of mine. And because of the influence of the world of Marvel, it has authored so much popular entertainment. And to be invited into that experience is something that I couldn’t say no to. I love the comic, and I love being in a family.

Vanessa Kirby will be playing Susan Storm/Ms. Fantastic, Joseph Quinn is going to play Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is going to play Ben Grimm/The Thing in the movie.

Gladiator II comes out in November 2024. The Fantastic Four: First Steps will release in July 2025.
