Ignoring an $8 Million Box Office Loss, Jennifer Garner Returns as Elektra in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 After 18 Years
Jennifer Garner has been a part of the entertainment industry for over a period of two decades. With a diverse filmography, the actor has been associated with projects like- Pearl Harbor, Catch Me If You Can, Juno, Valentine’s Day 13 Going 30, and Elektra. She rose to fame with her ABC-backed action thriller Alias, which aired from 2001 to 2006. Portaying a CIA officer for the critically acclaimed series brought her recognition and multiple projects in Hollywood.
A few months back, actor Jennifer Garner was in the spotlight for her Apple TV+ series The Last Thing He Told Me. Currently, the Golden Globe award winner is making headlines with her alleged comeback as Elektra for the Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool 3. The Shawn Levy-directed movie is a surprise package, as actor Hugh Jackman would be seen as Wolverine after a long time.
Jennifer Garner Makes Her Comeback As Elektra For Deadpool 3
Deadpool 3 is already creating a lot of buzz, almost a year before its release. The Ryan Reynolds starrer movie would see the comeback of two most loved characters from the superhero world in 2024. According to the latest developments on the superhero action-comedy, Jennifer Garner is set to return as Elektra for the Deadpool sequel.
The actor is donning the shoes of the martial arts-trained Marvel Comic character almost after a gap of 18 years. According to the reputed media outlet The Hollywood Reporter, a source confirmed that the Daredevil actor would be seen reprising her role as the assassin Elektra for the third chapter of Deadpool.
During an interview with the media outlet Glamour, the 51-year-old actor spoke about the struggles of wearing her Elektra attire. Jennifer Garner revealed-
“I had to be cut out of and sewn into the pleather pants every time I had to pee, and that was like a 45-minute undertaking. So I definitely held it in. And I had so many chicken-cutlet fake boobs in to make Elektra’s b**bs; I think there were three on each side of different sizes. And everything was pushed up and out.”
The actor further continued-
“I was just this close to a wardrobe malfunction at all times. There’s not enough tape in the world to make this stuff safe.”
Jennifer Garner first portrayed the role of Elektra in Ben Affleck’s Daredevil in 2003. The actors fell in love with each other and got married in 2005. She went on to reprise her role in the 2005 released Rob Browman-directed Elektra.
Jennifer Garner Feels She Was A Nightmare As A First-Time Mother
Every woman dreams of being a mother someday in her life. The Dallas Buyers Club actor Jennifer Garner was previously married to Ben Affleck and they share three kids. They are proud co-parents to Samuel, Seraphina, and Violet. During an interview for the cover story of Allure, the actor had spoken about the struggles of being a mother for the first time. Jennifer Garner mentioned that she was no less than a nightmare for everyone around her. She said-
“I was such a first-time mom. My eldest daughter didn’t have a shot. She couldn’t have a free thought—I was all over her. I was a nightmare for everyone around me.”
While talking about how quickly time has passed and her little toddlers have grown up into mature individuals, the actor mentioned-
“Your kids will really figure out who they are and what they are when they’re older, and most likely they will hew toward lovely. I have a lot of faith in my kids. I don’t love every behavior all the time, always. It’s gnarly growing up. We didn’t have the eyes on us that our kids have.”

Jennifer Garner has been a hands-on mother after legally separating from her ex-husband Ben Affleck in 2018. While speaking about how desperately she had wanted to be a mother, the Elektra star said-
“Being a mother was one thing I knew I was going to be. I really could have been a mother in any way. I could have adopted, I could have fostered, but there was no doubt I was going to be a mom. I mean, I was the kid with the doll everywhere I went.”
Jennifer Garner is currently dating American businessman, John Miller. The actor is supposed to make a comeback with one of the most important characters of her acting career in the third chapter of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starer Deadpool 3.
Deadpool 3 is expected to hit theaters on May 3, 2024.
