Tom Brady says Jack loves lacrosse and basketball

During a recent conversation with People, former NFL player, Tom Brady spoke about the potential football career of his son Jack. Brady said, “Yeah, he played this last year and I don’t even know if he’s going to play next year. And to be honest, whatever he chooses, I’ll be very happy. But he loves lacrosse…basketball’s probably his favorite sport, but he’s a very good student.”

Tom Brady on why he would never push Jack or Benjamin to play football

Brady had gone on to say during the podcast interview that he had never thought his older son, who is a quarterback, would ever play football, adding that it had been so much fun for him to go out and watch him play. The former NFL player continued, saying that he didn’t care how well he performed; all that mattered to him was being able to watch him play and have fun with his friends.

Brady also spoke to ESPN’s NFL Live where he clarified that parents should just support their kids’ dreams regardless of what they are, noting that it doesn’t always have to be sports. He added, “I think that’s part of being a parent is supporting your kids’ dreams, and now that I’ve got more time on my hands, I’m very much looking forward to doing that as well.”

The player further said that the reason why he would never push his sons to follow his legacy is because there are too many crazy expectations that people would put on him which is unfair.

Tom Brady talks about navigating life as a single dad

Brady and Gisele Bündchen announced their divorce after 13 years of marriage and the two of them share two kids, Benjamin and Vivian. In a recent interview with ET Online, Brady shed some light on how he is navigating his life as a single dad and said that he is focused on creating a real solid base and foundation for them and would support them.

He said, “I think myself and their mom have done an amazing job of providing that, and I think that we’re just gonna keep doing it. We’re never a finished product. The kids aren’t finished products. At the end of the day, we’re learning along with them. And all you can do is the best you can do with the opportunities that you have, and the challenges you have, and we all have unique challenges to our life that we deal with.”

The NFL player acknowledged that he does not have a guidebook on how to lead life and even at the age of 45 he sometimes finds himself in a new situation. He pointed out during the interview that “You don’t know how to always say the appropriate thing or the right thing, but the only thing you can do for your kids is to try and say, ‘All right, guys, this is kinda the way that it’s worked for me, and the things that I’ve learned from, and now it’s up to you, you gotta take it.”
