“I’m better than Tom Cruise”: Will Smith Thought He Can Beat Tom Cruise, Failed Horribly as He Tried to Copy the Mission Impossible Star
The well-known actor of Hollywood Will Smith’s bravest statement that he could even outshine action icon Tom Cruise has backfired at him. Although it didn’t take long enough for Smith to pivot from his statement as his attempt to mimic Cruise’s stunts ended up with him thinking otherwise.
Will Smith believed that he was better than Tom Cruise
During her discussion with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith recall the memory of when he thought he was better than Tom Cruise. The Men in Black star Will Smith known for cracking witty jokes during candid interviews time and again will never be forgotten for when he thought he was Tom Cruise.

Will promoting his movie Bad Boys of Life back in 2020, Smith shared a funny memory about his experience of working with his co-stars. Smith shared how he went ahead with the idea of doing his stunt without any stunt doubles.
Talking about this Smith said he started off and after a few seconds into the stunt he was like
“I am better than Tom Cruise”, but right after doing two stunts he started regretting his decision and said to himself “I am not better than Tom Cruise”.
“I’m trying to hang on. There were a couple of the action sequences that I was like ‘oooh.’ I started and I told myself I was doing all of my stunts. I was doing — you know, Tom Cruise was just hanging on the side of an airplane at 50. I was like ‘Man, I’m better than Tom Cruise!’ And I did like two stunts and I was like ‘I’m not better than Tom Cruise!”
Even though Will Smith didn’t nail the stunt his action-packed performance mixed with humor has indeed hooked the heart of many fans.
Will Smith’s upcoming movie
After one of the most dramatic Oscars of his life, Will Smith is now making his way back to the silver screen. Will Smith is all set to make his way to the silver screen with his upcoming movie Bad Boys 4 after keeping a low profile for almost 12 months. After the box office hit of Bad Boys of Life, the actor and creators are all set to make releases Bad Boys 4 on June 14 in 2024.
Apart from Bad Boys 4, Smith will also be seen in the Netflix action film Fast and Losse. However, there is no official announcement on the release date of the movie as its production is on halt ever since Smith’s Oscar controversy.
