“I’m doing plastic surgery. I don’t feel shame”: The View’s Sunny Hostin Sparks Body Positivity Controversy With Br***t Reduction Surgery, Says She’s a “Better Version” Now
The demand for plastic surgeons has increased since the pandemic. Many celebrities have been through the procedure, but they usually keep it a secret. A br***t lift and reduction can cost between $10,000 and $30,000, whereas a lipo can cost between $8,500 and $30,000.
Sunny Hostin, in August 2022, went through the same procedure and is now sharing her journey. She is not ashamed of sharing the fact that she went under the knife. The View cohost in the recent edition of People revealed her doing liposuction, br***t reduction, and lift surgery last summer.
Sunny Hostin shares her cosmetic surgery journey
The mother of two confessed to going through br***t reduction and lift, as well as a liposuction. She revealed that she feels like a better version of herself after going through the procedure. Sunny Hostin has been trying to do the surgery for a long time due to her health issues. She was struggling with back pain and body-image issues for years and moved forward with the decision. The View cohost called it a health and self-care decision. She seeks to de-stigmatize cosmetic surgeries by starting a discussion about them.
Hostin said,
“I thought I would feel shame, like, ‘Oh my God, I’m doing plastic surgery like all these crazy celebrities. But I don’t feel shame at all. And I hope sharing my story will help more people. If they’re feeling so body-conscious, the way I was — they can do what they need to do to feel better.”
The 54-year-old television host booked an appointment with Dr. Ryan Neinstein, a plastic surgeon from New York City, and Dr. Anna Steve, a br***t expert, after deciding to go ahead with the procedure. She went with liposuction on her chin and waist as well.
Sunny Hostin felt self-conscious since her childhood
- The journalist during her childhood living in New York City started experiencing self-consciousness. Even after becoming a mother of two, her self-esteem issues continued. She confessed, “By the time I was 16, I was a double-D. I couldn’t imagine my br***ts would get bigger with childbirth — however, they did.”
During her full-time work with The View as their cohost since 2016, her insecurities started to grow. She confessed to wearing a minimizer bra, a sports bra, or a binder to cover her enormous top. While getting ready for the White House Correspondents Dinner, Hostin had an incident that led to the motivation for her surgery.
