Chris Evans made a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but not as Captain America, the role that he is known for playing in the role. However, Evans made a cameo as Johnny Storm a.k.a. Human Torch in Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine, a role that he had played in the 2005 movie, Fantastic Four. It was a surprise for every fan when they saw the actor in the movie.

Evans recently expressed that he was very excited about playing a role from his past, especially at the suggestion of one of his dearest friends, Ryan Reynolds. As soon as Reynolds gave him the offer to make a cameo as the Human Torch, he agreed at once. However, it has to be noted that this would not have been possible if he was still in the MCU as Captain America.

I mean, honestly, I would do anything Ryan asked. He gave me a great cameo in Free Guy already, and I just trust him completely. So the chance to be Johnny again, I couldn’t pass up. I loved it. It was fun to shoot, fun to watch, all of it.

Interestingly, Evans also denied using cue cards when Reynolds suggested that he could. He told PEOPLE:

Cue cards? I’m showing up off-book. I don’t get to say dialogue like this. Trust me. I’m going to enjoy every second of this. Memorized.

Looks like Evans wanted to keep everything as natural as he could to make the best out of his role. As a result, there’s no doubt people are screaming in joy after witnessing him as Human Torch again in Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine, if nothing else, is still a delight to fans for sure. Along with the casting of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and Evans’ cameo, it also features Henry Cavill’s cameo. Director Shawn Levy has not only offered Marvel fans something worth screaming in joy for, but he has also fulfilled the wishes of many actors.

Just like Hugh Jackman once expressed how overwhelmed he was after getting the chance to play Wolverine again, Chris Evans has also revealed his gratitude towards the Deadpool & Wolverine team.

The actor, overjoyed, shared that playing his Fantastic Four character again was like a dream come true for him, and he is absolutely grateful to the team (via PEOPLE).

They’re three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Special thank you to Ryan for making it all happen. Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he’ll always have a special place in my heart.

The fact that Johnny is a character that Evans played years before claiming his role as Captain America, makes it very special and nostalgic for him.
