According to Thompson, his mother had to make a lot of sacrifices in order to be Amari’s 24-hour caregiver. Thus, his mother suffered a lot to raise her sons. She used to remain at home, watching him from a distance and encouraging him to do his best at his game. His mom’s life was very different from most NBA moms’, as he explained in an interview with NBC Sports Chicago last year while playing for the Chicago Bulls. He hasn’t spoken much anything about his mom’s sudden death. But in this terrible time,  Thompson and his family deserve our sincere sympathies. We hope for his late mother’s soul to be in peace.
