It has been a few days since rumors have been swirling around that the legendary pop star, Taylor Swift is potentially making her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The singer, who has been recently spotted with the upcoming Deadpool 3 cast, sparked the possibility of her involvement in the film. The upcoming mutant film, Deadpool 3 has been generating a lot of buzz these days. Previously, Marvel shocked the fans with the introduction of Wolverine in the movie, and now there’s a flurry of rumors that pop diva Taylor Swift is making her entry as Dazzler, further fueling the film’s excitement.

The rumors of her Marvel entry intensified when the singer was seen attending a Chiefs’ NFL game with Levy and the movie’s stars, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on October 1.

During an interview with The Wrap, director Shawn Levy acknowledged the enthusiasm of Swift’s fans for her potential inclusion in Marvel, stating that they are “surely loud”.  However, when asked about the rumors, he opted for a “no comment” response.

“‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy.”

Levy humorously admitted that he can’t make any comments because the topic is sensitive as it involves both Taylor Swift and the MCU, which are highly sensational and popular. Levy, leaving a cryptic note, suggested that fans are “going to have to wait and see” whether the pop star will indeed make the historic cameo.

Deadpool 3 can surprise the fan with further cameos

This isn’t the first time rumors about Swift playing Dazzler have surfaced. It was speculated that the singer would appear in the 2016  X-Men Apocalypse after being spotted in a picture with the movie writer and leading cast.

Apart from Swift, Deadpool 3 has teased several cameos, including the return of X-Men characters from the previous Fox-X-Men film franchise.
Additionally, there have been reports that Jennifer Garner will be reprising her role as Elektra from Ben Affleck’s Daredevil (2003). Overall, the inclusion of other characters adds an extra layer of excitement that Marvel has been cooking up something big for the fans.

Taylor Swift’s Deadpool debut fuels anticipation and uncertainties

Swift chatted with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at the game.

While rumors have been floating based on Swift’s appearance with the Deadpool cast, this does not completely imply her involvement in the movie.

Since Swift has been friends with Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, who was also present at the Chiefs game, since 2015, and the singer’s reported current boyfriend, Travis Kelce, actually plays for the aforementioned NFL team, her Deadpool cameo has no place.

However, it’s possible that she simply came to attend the match to support her boyfriend and found herself tagging along with the Deadpool cast.

Whereas Shawn Levy’s refusal of Swift’s involvement in Deadpool with a cryptic note of “no comment” fuels the anticipation, suggesting the notion is on the table.  After all, this is the entertainment industry, and speculation is nothing new here. Filmmakers can use this as a powerful marketing tactic to maintain suspense and generate buzz around the project.

Deadpool 3 is set to hit theatres on 3 May 2024
