“I’m not ready now”: Drake is Planning For a “Graceful Exit” From Music Industry With His $260 Million Fortune, Says It’s an Addictive Competitive Space
When it comes to a successful career, Drake undoubtedly makes the list. The Canadian rapper has made a whole fortune through his music career. Therefore it is a bit surprising that he wants to quit all of it. Although the rapper did not confirm anything, however, he brought up the idea during an interview. Seems like he might be tired or just bored with how people in the music industry go on fighting for the same trophy competitively. Drake even expressed how the whole thing could be addictive as a competition instead of just the art itself. Therefore with time, he might remove himself from the scene in a nice way.
Drake Might Make an Exit From The Music Industry
Whether it’s movies or music, the entertainment industry is quick-paced. With so many artists and production groups available, there is hardly any shortage of music or films. People consume the media in such a way that even the artists have to remain fiercely competitive to keep their names relevant. Otherwise, it would not be long till their names become a thing of the past. Drake is one such artist who has made a big name for himself among music lovers. There is hardly anyone that has not heard the name. His success in the music industry resulted in a fortune of around 260 million dollars.
For those that are in doubt, his famous tracks include Hotline Bling, God’s Plan, etc. But according to one of his interviews, it seems as if he does not want to continue working in the industry for the rest of his life. He sat with Lil Yachty for his youtube channel and discussed the topic. While discussing he expressed that, observing the many people in the industry made him want to exit. The Hotline Bling singer shared that instead of making music for its sake, artists could get addicted to the competition itself. And looking at that he said,
“but I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit.”
The rapper also added what he was looking forward to doing instead of the competition.
“I’m not ready now, but to gracefully continue making projects that are extremely interesting”
He opened up that he is at a point in his life where he just wants to ditch the competition. Even though the singer is one of the most successful, the competitive nature of the industry has seemingly left him unimpressed.
What is His Next Step?
Although he wants to exit the music industry there are some things that Drake wants to carry out first. As he is not into the competition, therefore the Canadian rapper wants to create something that would leave a positive impact. He expressed his desire to make music gracefully.
He emphasized his desire to have no part in the competition. Instead, he is apparently looking forward to creating for the people. And then wait for the next generation to create something newer and exciting.
