Netizens Freakout At Elon Musk’s Dystopian Neuralink Technology
Elon Musk made headlines after making an eye-popping announcement about his highly esteemed startup Neuralink. The billionaire recently posted on X about the first-ever human being to ever receive an implant from Neuralink. He posted-
The first human received an implant from @Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well. Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.
According to the National Institute Of Health, spikes are activities by neurons. They use electrical and chemical signals to send information from the brain to the body. According to Reuters, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration had given clearance to Neuralink in 2023 to conduct its first trial for the implant on human beings.

According to the official website of Neuralink, the study will deal with the functionality of the interface that allows those with paralysis or Quadriplegia to control the device with the help of their thoughts.
According to a report by the popular media outlet Reuters in 2022, Neuralink was fined for the violation of the rules and regulations with respect to the US Department Of Transportation (DoT) for the movement of hazardous materials. During an inspection of Neuralink’s California and Texas center in February 2023, they found inappropriate packaging of Xylene, which causes loss of muscle coordination, dizziness, headaches, and can even lead to death.

According to Reuters, the startup is built on a staggering investment of $5 billion. Back in September 2023, Neuralink announced the implant trial based on which, a robot developed by the company would be involved in surgically placing the implants in a patient’s brain.

He even pointed out about the better side of artificial intelligence, the SpaceX founder said-

Elon Musk is a supporter of artificial intelligence in the workplace and he strongly believes that very soon there will be no jobs for human beings as AI will be able to do almost everything.
