“In other words, he’s full of s—t”: Conor McGregor Trashes Boxer Floyd Mayweather For Claims Of Making $100M, Asks Why He Never Made The Forbes Top 100
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has had a lengthy and impressive career. Over the years, he has defeated the greatest fighters in the sport and accumulated a number of titles in various weight divisions. His professional boxing career may be over, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t occasionally entered the ring. The former boxer still earns a lot of money while competing in exhibition fights and not running the same risk of injury as he did during his professional career. However, according to Conor McGregor, the former professional boxer isn’t making as much money as it might appear.
Floyd Mayweather retired from being a professional boxer
Following his amateur bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympics in the featherweight division, Floyd Mayweather entered the professional boxing ranks in 1996. The American boxer had fought in five different weight classes during his professional career. The boxer decided to hang up his gloves in 2017 after defeating the MMA star Conor McGregor. The match took place on 26 August 2017, which was his last match as a professional boxer. By the time he retired he had a perfect 50-0 record.
The former American professional boxer is set to fight Mikuru Asakura
Floyd Mayweather is scheduled to fight Mikuru Asakura in an exhibition match. The fight will take place inside Japan’s Saitama Super Arena on September 25, 2022. The payout for the match is expected to heavily favor the American boxer. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Floyd Mayweather revealed that he will be earing quite a lot from this match. The boxer claimed that he will earn between $15 million and $20 million from his fight in Japan. If true, this would represent an astonishing payday for the former professional boxer.
Conor McGregor rejected Floyd Mayweather’s claim of making $100M
Floyd Mayweather has also claimed to have earned $100 million from his previous exhibition fight with YouTube sensation Logan Paul. In a Tweet, Conor McGregor refuted the former professional boxer’s most recent boast about his earnings from fights. Considering their most recent fight that took place in 2017, Conor McGregor asserts that the American “hasn’t cleared 20m dollars in one full year.” He gave Floyd Mayweather’s absence from the top 100 on the Forbes list as justification for this. The Irishman called the boxer a liar by stating, “In other words, he’s full of s**t.” The MMA star later removed those posts from his Twitter account.
