Is ‘Ahsoka’ a Hit or Flop- Star Wars Fans Suspicious After Conflicting Views Details From Disney Plus
The new addition of Ahsoka on the Disney+ platform has led the Star Wars universe to find itself on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride. Amid the ongoing box office setbacks, the much-anticipated debut of Ahsoka has sparked hopes for Disney and its makers. However, for the fans, this new addition has sparked speculation due to the conflicting viewership figures provided by sources.
Conflicting Viewership Figures on Star Wars’ Ahsoka
Ever since the release of the highly anticipated Ahsoka on Disney+ fans across the globe have loved it. Just like any other film while some find it to be boring others find this new addition worth a watch.
However, the conflicting viewership figures released by Lucasfilm and other reputed sites have led fans to speculate whether or not this new addition is a success. The first viewership data was released by Samba TV, a reputed third-party data collector which allows viewers to peek behind the curtains regarding viewership figures.
The latest new #StarWars series, #Ahsoka finally hit screens with 1.2M US households watching over its first six days. This is similar to viewership of #Andor's premiere season and slightly lower than #TheMandalorian's third season premiere over its first six days.… pic.twitter.com/ymspRP15Es

Talking about the Ahsoka, Samba TV reported that this show has been watched by only 1.2 million viewers within its first six days on Disney+. However, just one day after Samba TV’s statement, Lucasfilm, released a statement saying Ahsoka has been viewed by 14 million viewers in its first week on Disney+.
Talking about this Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said “Ahsoka has become a fan favorite with people of all ages and it’s wonderful to see her continue to resonate with viewers in her very own headlining series. I want to recognize the fantastic work done by our creative team, led by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the incredible cast led by Rosario Dawson and our talented crew — and on behalf of the team and all of Lucasfilm, we give our thanks to all the fans who have been with Ahsoka on every step of her journey and to all those who are just learning about her now in ‘Ahsoka’ on Disney+.”
Even though there has not been any official statement by Star Wars or Disney on the official viewership numbers of Ahsoka. Fans are confused whether or not this new addition to the Star Wars universe is a success.
Is Ahsoka a Success?
Considering the figures by Samba TV, Ahsoka has done nothing better than that of any other Star Wars show. For instance, other Star Wars shows like The Mandalorian Season 3 (1.6 million in first 4 days), Obi-Wan Kenobi (2.14 million in first 4 days), and The Book of Boba Fett (1.9 million in first 6 days) have received more viewership than that of Ahsoka.
In comparison to these previous Star Wars shows it can be said that Ahsoka has not lived up to Disney + exceptions as the number is still below 2 million. Although it can be considered that the show is being watched massively in other parts of the world which is one of the reasons why it has crossed the other Star Wars shows, as it gained the title of most-viewed premiere episode.
As Disney has not officially released any statement on the viewership, speculations around the shows and their success will be lingering around for a while. However, if Ahsoka did gain 14 million viewers then maybe it is comeback time for Disney and all of its franchises.
