The jury awarded him more than $10 million, and the court ordered him to pay $2 million, for defaming her through comments made by his attorney, Adam Waldman.

Later in 2020, Amber Heard countersued Depp for conducting a harassment campaign via Twitter and online petitions in an attempt to remove her from Aquaman and L’Oréal.

After the Pirates of the Caribbean star won the verdict, he shared a post on Instagram. The actor thanked the jury for giving his life back. He also mentioned how he got massive hate due to the media’s criminal allegation of him and all that he went through.

He thanked everyone for their support throughout the trial saying, “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the colossal support and kindness from around the world.”

The Instagram post grabbed over 19 million likes. It included many big Hollywood stars who have supported Johnny Depp ever since the beginning of the case. It included Paul McCartney, who played a clip of Depp during his Glastonbury Festival in June. The actor also received support from his ex-girlfriend Kate Moss.

Recently, around 6,000 pages of unsealed court documents related to the Depp-Heard case came out. These documents contain details that led many to change their perspective on the case.

The three biggest revelations made through the documents include Amber Heard’s stint as a strip dancer before she met Johnny Depp, texts between Depp and Marilyn Mason, and the alleged truth behind Depp’s finger injury.

The revelation of documents resulted poorly for Johnny Depp, and Heard’s supporters have started mocking Depp due to his deeply personal medical problem mentioned in the documents.
