Is Marvel Totally Going To Kill Off Ant-Man, Explained
It does seem to be brighter to be for Scott Lang in the MCU, as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has heavily suggested death in the film, as formidable villain Kang the Conquerer is here!
The Ant-Man franchise was not taken as the most serious in the whole grand scheme of the Infinity Saga, but Marvel Studios is undergoing a very major way for the third installment. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will kick off Phase 5 of the MCU and will be serving the Multiverse Saga when it will get a theatrical release in 2023. The movie will bring back star Paul Rudd reprising his role as Scott Lang, but there’s a bigger role in the film that might also get bring bigger consequences.
The Film Will Debut The Villainous Kang
For all we know, the movie will reprise star Scott Lang, but the movie’s much larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could also get bigger consequences.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is deeply rooted in the MCU and its importance comes via its villain: Kang the Conqueror. After Loki, He Who Knows played by Jonathan Majors, the talented actor makes a comeback to the MCU in Phase 5 to be Kang the Conqueror. The first synopsis of the threequel is largely still under wraps, but Kang has high hopes of conquering the entire multiverse if MCU takes inspiration from the comics.
Marvel Studios most likely has a similar endgame for the next Phase as Kang’s big debut might make him the next big villain of the ongoing Multiverse Saga similar to Thanos, which will be culminating in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
The introduction of Earth-818 opens all doors of the Multiverse, but Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has many characters that the villain could kill, and the biggest clue; Marvel is already teasing that Kang will kill Ant-Man.
How The MCU Is Steadily Setting Up The Death of Ant-Man Already
After Endgame, Ant-Man has turned into a lot bigger character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanks to a possible podcast, his book, and the hero’s inclusion in Rogers: The Musical, it is clear that Marvel Studios is now trying to build up his significance in the shared universe.
This sort of mirrors the Marvel Studios boss Feige’s decision to give more importance to the Ant-Man franchise by having the film launch MCU Phase 5. This move might be a means to make the fans and others in the MCU start caring about Rudd’s superhero more – and this could happen if Kang kills the hilarious superhero in the Phase 5 movie.
Ant-Man CANNOT Take On Kang Alone!
It is also a fact that Kang being Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s villain is a huge deal. His overall role in the Multiverse Saga signals that he is literally invincible, and if one of his variants can be stopped in his evil plan here, having Rudd’s character stop Kang seems really unbelievable. If Kang kills him, viewers are going to undeniably take his threats very seriously going ahead in MCU. This might also help Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, as any interaction between an Avenger would leave.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will come out on February 17, 2023
