“It doesn’t make me a bad person”: Will Smith Was Open About His Feelings For Halle Berry Even After Getting Married to Jada Pinkett Smith
For decades, Will Smith was driven by the desire to be the biggest movie star on earth, and he achieved his goals so effortlessly that it’s easy to forget how unlikely it was for a rapper turned actor. But over the last 10 years, Smith has become increasingly focused on evolving as a human being, from Will Smith the movie star to Will Smith the man.
In November, Smith is about to publish a memoir that reveals new information about his troubled relationship with his father, his adventures in self-actualization during what he calls “the fuck-it 50s,” and the ups and downs of his relationship with his wife Jada.
Married Will Smith Once Wanted to Date Halle Berry
Will Smith, 53, revealed in an interview for the November cover of GQ about his desires and fantasies with other women. During his first meeting with Michaela Boehm, an intimacy coach he spent years working with, Smith confessed that, if he could have anything in the world, he’d want a harem of girlfriends.
Boehm asked “Who”, insisting Smith name specific women he’d want to invite to his harem. Smith replied, “Misty Copeland, and Halle Berry too.” Smith explained, “I don’t know where I saw it or some shit as a teenager, but the idea of traveling with 20 women that I loved and took care of and all of that, it seemed like a great idea,”
Smith continued, “What she was doing was essentially cleaning out my mind, letting it know it was okay to be me and be who I was. It was okay to think Halle is fine. It doesn’t make me a bad person that I’m married and I think Halle is beautiful. Whereas in my mind, in my Christian upbringing, even my thoughts were sins. That was the process that Michaela worked me through to let me realize that my thoughts were not sins and even acting on an impure thought didn’t make me a piece of shit.”
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Relationship Over the Years
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have had a tumultuous relationship and have faced tons of speculations. Though they have been shutting down rumors for decades with the internet going into a frenzy now and then, the truth is way more complicated than just online drama.
Will Smith and Jada met on the set of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air while he was still married to Sheree Zampino. After his split with Sheree, Will, and Jada married in 1997 when Pinkett was pregnant with their son Jaden. Over the years then followed a series of never-ending rumors that have created major complications in the couple’s marriage. In 2011, amid rumors that Jada was hooking up with Marc Anthony, the couple released a statement rejecting the news.
This was followed by controversies about the couple being in an open marriage which was also denied by Jada Pinkett Smith. Amid yet another round of rumors that Will and Jada were splitting, Will hit Facebook and denied that they were getting a divorce. Despite continuous ups and downs, the couple has stuck together through thick and thin and always prioritized their family over all the controversies.
