“It hasn’t really yet affected things”: Daniel Radcliffe Confirms Return to Acting World after Long Hiatus Due to Newborn Son
Daniel Radcliffe’s Wizarding World character Harry Potter might not have been the brightest wizard of all time, but the star himself is definitely one of the best actors of his generation. Despite being quite selective of the characters he chooses to portray, he has proved his versatility by taking up roles that have challenged his abilities.
Following his rise to stardom as Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has starred in several great projects such as the biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and The Lost City, in which he plays the role of the antagonist. He decided to take a break from the industry to spend some time with his newborn baby earlier this year, but he is ready to make a comeback now.
Daniel Radcliffe Is Set To Grace The Screens Again
Artists often distance themselves from show business for personal reasons such as rejuvenating themselves or recovering from health or addiction issues. Daniel Radcliffe took some time off to be there with his newborn baby, who was born in April 2023, and his girlfriend Erin Darke whom he has been dating since 2012 when they were working on Kill Your Darlings.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, when Radcliffe was asked whether or not his baby would be affecting his career moving forward, he said:
“I think it certainly will. It hasn’t really yet affected things, but I really like spending time with him, and I think I’m gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year. So, I will definitely be I think a bit more selective — not more selective, I’ve always been selective, but I think I’ll probably work a little bit less for the next few years. I’ll never be stopping. I don’t think that’s good for me either.”
The Guns Akimbo star’s most recent project is the TBS series Miracle Workers. The fourth season of this anthology series premiered earlier this year. His beau Erin Darke also appeared as a guest in this season of the series.
Daniel Radcliffe Is Embracing Parenthood
Becoming a parent can be incredibly challenging and so, it seems fair that Daniel Radcliffe has been taking his time to come to terms with his new role as a father. Although he is not a huge fan of discussing his private life publicly, fatherhood is certainly changing that aspect of his life.
During an interview with E! News, Radcliffe revealed that his return to Broadway coupled with his time with his new baby is quite enjoyable. Giving an account of what parenting has been like, he said:
“The fact that there is a creature in the world that can give you the worst night of your life, and then you wake up in the morning, go over to them, and they turn around and smile, and you’re like, I don’t care about any of the things you just did. That’s pretty cool.”
That being said, the Escape from Pretoria actor’s comeback to the big screen does not seem too far away which is something to look forward to for his fans who are eagerly waiting to find out what his new project will be.
