Jo Koy acknowledged that hosting the Globes was a challenge, telling the press,
“Yes, I’m a stand-up comic but that hosting position it’s a different style. I kind of went in and did the writer’s thing. We had 10 days to write this monologue. It was a crash course. I feel bad, but I got to still say I loved what I did.”
Jo Koy breaks silence on hosting the #GoldenGlobes, saying he fell short — “I’d be lying if [I said] it doesn’t hurt. I hit a moment there where I was like, ‘Ah.’ Hosting is just a tough gig.”

As per People, the comedian revealed he was hired as host just 10 days before the show.
Koy admitted, “It was a crash course, I feel bad.” However, he clarified he is ready for round two if given more time, stating, “I’d love to [host again] — provided he has more time to prepare, with five months, not nine days.”
Koy rolled with the punches during the live show. After a joke elicited muted reactions, he quipped to the audience, “Yo, I got the gig ten days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Shut up! You’re kidding me, right? I wrote some of these, and they’re the ones you’re laughing at.”
