Upon its release, the movie received positive reviews from the audience and the critics. The makers managed to get several actors from X-Men movies and other Marvel productions for a cameo, making it a final goodbye to Fox’s Marvel movies. Ryan Reynolds has been involved in all the processes of the movie from the beginning, but he recently found out about this Deadpool variant.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s stunt coordinator and assistant director George Cottle recently revealed on his social media that Tom Holland’s brother, Harry Holland, had a small cameo in the movie. The movie has various variants of Deadpool, and Harry Holland was cast as one of those. Cottle wrote (via EW)

When director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds set the bar so f***king high, even the stunt team needed a special guest star!! It may not be the Holland the world wanted, but it was the Holland we all needed. Harry, you smashed it, my friend.

But it turns out that Ryan Reynolds wasn’t aware of Holland’s appearance as he reposted the picture and wrote, ‘This is how I find out? You tell me?’ And Cottle simply said that all good things come to those who wait.

Harry Holland’s Deadpool variant shows up in the big third-act fight sequence when Deadpool and Wolverine are fighting their way through Deadpool Corps. Tom Holland’s brother has previously filmed a cameo for Spider-Man: No Way Home, but unfortunately it did not make it to the final cut but was instead used for Spider-Man: No Way Home—The More Stuff Version.

Deadpool & Wolverine director explains Matthew McConaughey cameo

Surprisingly, it was Harry Holland’s cameo that surprised Reynolds, despite the fact that he had Matthew McConaughey on his team. McConaughey voiced the CowboyPool in the movie. Director Shawn Levy, upon his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, shared how McConaughey was finalized as the voice of CowboyPool.

Ryan Reynolds, in early cuts, was the voice of CowboyPool. He did the greatest CowboyPool, and I implored him to let us use his voice. I feel like eventually, he was like, ‘Okay, fine, we’ll stick with my voice unless we can get someone like Matthew McConaughey’. Cut to…yes! Literally days later, Matthew McConaughey sent us that recording. It was so good and dropped in like butter.

Levy added that it was immediately like, ‘Ryan, you’re fired as CowboyPool, Matthew, you’re in.’ Reynolds also decided to comment on McConaughey’s surprise cameo in the movie and wrote in stories that this movie-making business is an actual community, and showing up for each other is a great example of that.

The Canadian star also went ahead to mention that not only do the McConaugheys make the one and only Pantalones Tequila, but the actor also delves into the less exciting world of acting from time to time. He described McConaughey as a ‘gorgeous hunk of heaven.’ (via CBR)

Apart from Holland and McConaughey, actors including Jennifer Garner, Wesley Snipes, Channing Tatum, Chris Evans, Henry Cavill, and more made an appearance in the movie. According to reports by CNBC, Deadpool & Wolverine now holds the record of being the second R-rated movie to cross $1 billion at the global box office, just behind Warner Bros.’ 2019 Joker.

Senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian shared with the publication that Marvel’s recent release is a blueprint for how to create the perfect box-office beast. Dergarabedian added that the movie showcased how, from a novel marketing strategy that included a viral popcorn bucket to a perfect release date, a successful movie can be achieved.
