“It will be a wholly new feast for the eyes”: Daniel Kaluuya’s Spider-Punk Universe Will be Explored in Detail in ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’

From Disney’s The Little Mermaid to Sony Animation’s Spider-Verse series- they have not only gotten popular over a period of time but also did extremely well at the box office. The much-hyped Academy Award-winning animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse became a blockbuster hit and went on to carve the trajectory for the upcoming installments originating from the Spider-Verse.
Sony Animations backed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’s sequel, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse released on June 1, 2023, worldwide. The movie transverses into different worlds with spider-men from multiple colors and creeds. Sony Pictures Animation’s and Columbia Pictures Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has already become a massive hit with skyrocketing numbers at the box office.
Daniel Kaluuya On Spider-Punk Universe in Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse
Sony Animation’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse paved the way for its upcoming installments. The Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is expected to release in the year 2024. This installment is all set to land in the world of Hobie Brown played by Daniel Kaluuya in the upcoming Spider-Verse prequel. The writer-producer duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller revealed the news during a conversation during the Deadline’s Crew Call podcast.
The filmmaker duo said-
“Visiting Spider-Punk’s world is one of many crazy mixed-media adventures that we’re going to have in [Beyond the Spider-Verse]. It’ll be a whole new feast for the eyes.”
In the previous chapter Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse the audience knew the backstory of Spider-Punk. The movie’s release date was removed from the official Spider-Verse Twitter account. Coupled with the fact that Spider-Gwen actor Hailee Steinfeld seemingly hasn’t recorded her lines yet, many suspect that the release of the upcoming Spider-Verse movie would be delayed.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse chronicles the story of Spider-Man Miles Morales and with the upcoming threequel of the Spider-Verse series, it is a little difficult to bid goodbye to him. With the third and last chapter of the Spider-Verse- Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse the trilogy comes to an end. Spider Gwen And Other web crawlers from different universes come together for the last phase. With messed-up timelines and multiple subplots, it is next to impossible to decode the storyline of Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. With the last phase, Spider-Verse is gradually coming to an end along with an all-female Spidey sequel led by Spider-Gwen.
To our surprise, Sony Pictures Animation has announced a brand-new short film at the 2023 Annecy Festival. While the release date hasn’t been revealed, the film would revolve around Miles Morales after he experiences a panic attack. According to the media outlet Deadline, the short film also features a few Easter eggs, which the fans will get to discover when they watch.
Earth-1610 Miles Morales was mistakenly sent to Earth-42, where the spider who had ended up biting him originally was from and now he would be face-to-face with another version of himself. Miles Morales would go back to Earth-1610 to stop his dad from dying- a canon event in his life that he Nor will do anything to make sure Miles Morales doesn’t stop. Meanwhile, the female Spider-Gwen has wrangled a new group of Spideys in an attempt to save Miles and his father before it’s too late. With his new ability to transverse across the multiverse, everything and everyone is in danger.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to release on March 29, 2024.
