Grande has impressed the audience with her music over the years with six albums, which include massive hits including Thank You, Next, 7 Rings, Problem, Break Free, and more. She recently released her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine. The singer, during an interview, answered the most-asked question about her touring, and it’s not what the fans would have expected.

Singer-songwriter and actress Ariana Grande appeared on the Shut Up Evan podcast, where she was asked about the probability of her fans watching her perform on stage while on tour for her recently released album Eternal Sunshine. To which she said,

I still want it, too. I think it would be a really lovely idea to be able to trickle in some shows between the two Wicked films. I think there’s a version of that that exists.

Talking about the probable tour, Grande added that when confirmed, it won’t follow the same format for a ‘multitude of reasons’, including the fact that it will consist of a mini-sampling of the shows. The singer shared that it’s something she and her team are working on.

Back in 2022, the singer shared when she appeared in an interview with Zach Sang via Uproxx that she would love to do shows as she loves being on stage. Grande mentioned she loves her fans so much, and that’s the honest-to-God truth. She shared that she really had a hard time emotionally on her last tour but added that maybe it was because of where she was at the moment in her life. Grande added, 

I think I am really excited to redefine my relationship to shows, when I’m ready, and to see what that looks like. I do have a very busy year, with this and with Wicked, and the next year, I also have Wicked Part 2, so I’m interested to see what that would look like.

The singer, however, clarified that she cannot wait to be on stage and perform for the fans but, at the same time, does not want to give a date or anything to get people excited because she doesn’t want to disappoint her fans. Apart from going on a mini tour, Grande would like to return to Broadway but says that she is assuming that she’d have to audition, which she will do if an interesting part comes to her.

As much as Ariana Grande’s fans want to see her on tour, the singer equally wants to be on the road and perform for her fans worldwide. But her schedule has been packed as of now due to work commitments. But some fans do remember that one of the reasons why Grande has opted to plan for a mini tour rather than a full tour is because of the challenges she faced during 2017’s Dangerous Woman Tour and 2018’s The Sweetener Sessions.

Grande’s 2017 tour memories are plagued by the infamous Manchester Arena attack, where a suicide bomber detonated an explosion on the premises. The horrifying incident took 22 lives, injuring about 116 people. In 2018, after she decided to do a mini tour with just four stops for her album Sweetener. However, Mac Miller’s [ex-boyfriend] death affected her, including other emotional problems. The tour was reportedly almost scrapped at the time.

Ariana Grande, however, after taking a break, returned with The Sweetener World Tour, which began in March 2019 and concluded in December 2019. The singer opened up to British Vogue in 2018, where she opened up about PTSD, followed by her Manchester concert.

It’s hard to talk about because many people have suffered such severe, tremendous losses. But yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experiences a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience—like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.

The singer took to her social media to share a heartbreaking apology, stating that she is sorry from the bottom of her heart. Ariana Grande returned to Manchester and reportedly visited the wounded fans’ families. As for now, the singer is busy celebrating the success of Eternal Sunshine and gearing up for her musical fantasy movie Wicked. She stars as Galinda Upland in the movie, which is scheduled for release on November 22, 2024.
