In her recent Instagram story, Kim Kardashian gave the world a peek into the Christmas world she set out for her children, and it is anything but simple. The lavishness of it all even raised some questions about materialism and indulgent parenting that many started to criticize. However, it was mostly seen as an all-out war against Kourtney Kardashian, for whom this Christmas was special for many reasons, and many felt like Kim Kardashian stole her limelight.

In a series of Instagram stories, the 43-year-old gives a glimpse of her $60 million house in Calabasas, which was decked up with 40 decorated Christmas trees that turned her home into a winter paradise.
The front of her house was filled with white twinkle lights, and the lights even covered all the trees that were leading up to her front door. There were also full-fledged decorated Christmas trees with white snow-like powder on them and twinkling lights in her hallway that made it look straight out of a Hallmark movie. She paired the stories with the classic It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Michael Bublé to set the mood, and it was nothing short of perfection. According to her stories, maestros Jeff Leatham and Mindy Weiss were behind translating her Christmas miracle into reality.
This opulence at Kim Kardashian’s house is much in contrast to her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s approach to Christmas, which was much more minimalistic and sober this year. At the end of November, the 44-year-old shared a glimpse of her living room, which had a plain Christmas tree with string lights and a subdued elf-themed decoration. Slowly, the Poosh creator showed her charisma with a dinner table set up of napkins folded like Christmas trees, plaid placemats, and festive pine tree leaves. It is all illuminated by the beautifully decorated trees in her backyard. She captioned it by saying:
“Dinner party for eight tween girls.”
Many had thought this would be the year of Kourtney Kardashian since it is her and Travis Barker’s first Christmas since they welcomed their newborn, Rocky Thirteen Barker, on November 1. However, given the exorbitant display of Kim K, many are speculating if it was done on purpose to outshine her sister due to some underlying feud that has yet to surface.

The Kardashian socialite has brought her Christmas spirit out by turning her whole house into a Christmas tree forest. It is Disneyland for Christmas enthusiasts, and many would probably kill to have this kind of experience. However, the internet was far from happy about it.
Reddit users had much to say, as one user wrote:
“It’s a paper-cornstarch-boron mixture that’s supposed to be flame retardant and also look like snow. Honestly I think they look tacky and there are better ways to mitigate fire risk but if your whole house is filled with them it’s probably safer this way. Still an unnecessary use of these trees from my perspective though.”
Another user pointed out the waste and said, “Flocked trees can NOT be picked up or taken to greenwaste. Totally disgusting.” Even Twitter did not leave her alone, as a Twitter user sarcastically commented: “One thing Kim Kardashian will do is find new ways to demonstrate that she is wealthy.”
The criticism that Kardashian received is also due to her recent antics with global warming. She supposedly came up with a solution for it by inventing bras with fake nipples, so no matter how hot it is outside, one can always feel like they are cold. Even in the case of her Christmas trees, she flocked them, rendering the sustainability of real Christmas trees useless.
