“It’s unfortunate personal lives creep into everything”: Johnny Depp Might Return For Pirates of the Caribbean With Margot Robbie After Legal Settlement With Amber Heard
After Amber Heard’s announcement that she would settle the defamation lawsuit with Johnny Depp, the legal battle between the two is over. Both sides were able to reveal many details during the trial, but Heard was the one who lost the most. The Aquaman actress announced she could not go with another trial and appeal, so she settled her defamation suit with the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
There has been speculation that Johnny Depp might be returning to his role as Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean next part as producer Jerry Bruckheimer spoke with The Hollywood Reporter yesterday. A stunning sequel to Top Gun was perhaps Bruckheimer’s most remarkable cinematic accomplishment in his career. During the interview, many of his answers are polite and economical, and he doesn’t seem as concerned about enthralling his audience as he used to be.
Jerry Bruckheimer Hints at Johnny Depp’s Return as Jack Sparrow
As part of an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about his lengthy career, the 79-year-old Hollywood super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer praised Johnny Depp‘s work. During the interview, Bruckheimer seemed to be hinted at returning the 59-year-old actor to the Pirates of the Caribbean series with or without Margot Robbie after he settled with Amber Heard for $1 million in his defamation lawsuit against her on Monday.
The Sunday Times reported in May 2022 that Jerry Bruckheimer is developing two Pirates scripts, one centered around Margot Robbie, but he did not confirm anything on his end during the time.
During a discussion about the possibility of a Pirates sixth film, Bruckheimer said,
“I would love to have him in the movie. He’s a friend, a terrific actor, and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.”
In response to THR’s question about Depp’s role ending in the next Pirates film, the producer responded to Depp’s previous claim that the franchise would need to kill off his character Captain Jack Sparrow if he returned for a sixth and final installment.
Bruckheimer responded,
“You can’t. We tried to kill him. It didn’t work.”
Bruckheimer also discussed his recent success with Top Gun: Maverick, which has grossed more than $1 billion thanks to its strategy to stay in theaters rather than move quickly to streaming.
A Defamation Case Settlement Will Result In Amber Heard Paying Johnny Depp $1 Million
In the defamation trial, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp finally reached a legal settlement on December 19, 2022. It is reported that Heard will be paying $1 million to her ex-husband Depp to settle the defamation case trial finally.
Depp’s attorneys, Camille Vasquez and Benjamin Chew, stated,
“We are pleased to formally close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who made clear his intent to bring the truth to light throughout this process.”
The DTO Law founder, William Delgado, discussed Amber’s losing case exclusively with distraction. He said,
“That process, in itself, can be long and arduous as it involves locating assets, having the sheriff serve the relevant documents, and addressing any objections or exemptions raised by the debtor, among other things.”
“Ultimately, if [Amber] Heard does not have assets totaling the amount of the judgment, the judgment will remain ‘unsatisfied’ until she finishes paying it off.”
He added,
“Although [Johnny] Depp’s judgment will expire after a certain period of time, it can be periodically renewed, so it’s something that could haunt her for a long time.”
According to TMZ, Heard’s $1 million settlement will be paid by insurance, not her own pocket, so her net worth will remain intact. Amber Heard’s net worth is estimated to be $8 million in January 2022 by sites such as Celebrity Net Worth. The defamation case appears to have almost emptied her bank account, and her net worth dropped by millions to only $500,000 as per Celebrity Net Worth.
