“I’ve been very close to complete breakdown”: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Reveal They Have 3 Emotional Support Dogs to Help With Fragile Mental Health Amidst Royal Family Drama
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going through tough times, especially after the passing away of Queen Elizabeth. And in all these hard times Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are relying on their friends for support.
Recently, Prince Harry was at an online conference with a few families when he saw a pet beside one family, and then he said that they also have three “emotional support dogs” whenever they are behaving.
During the video conference, with some of the winners of the Inspirational WellChild Award, Prince Harry shared that he and his wife have “emotional support dogs”.
Why does the Royal couple need “emotional support dogs”?
During the conference, The Duke of Sussex told one of the winning families who was speaking to him, with his pet dog beside him on World Mental health Day.
“I’ll tell you what, we all need a dog who keeps us calm”.
Prince Harry also stated that while having the conservation at the conference that
“I’ve got three in this house now, so we basically have five children”. He was referencing his two kids with Meghan Markle named Archie,3, and Lilibet,1, and their three pet dogs.

Prince Harry also shared the name of his dog Pula, who is a black Labrador. And two other rescue Beagles named Guy and Mia. He continued and said,
“Between the three of them, they charge around chasing the squirrels and causing all sorts of problems for us every single day.” He also said that the pets are “emotional support dogs” when they “are behaving“.
He started to open up about his mental health and the breakdowns he has been through and said,
“I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle.”
Prince Harry talks about how his mother’s death affected him and changed him completely. He says that he shut down all of his emotions for 20 years which has put a huge effect on his personal and work life.
Meghan Markle’s words on the Royal family
In all these years, Prince Harry became a mental health advocate, and Meghan Markle also struggled due to her mental health. When she entered the royal family as a new senior member, her mental health started to deprive. All this time, her husband Prince Harry was always there to support her and stand beside her.
Markle’s mental health was so bad that she did not even want to live. She openly talked about her mental state in the infamous television interview with Orphan Winfrey.
“I just didn’t want to be alive anymore,”
“I can’t be left alone.“
She said in the interview that she told her thoughts to her husband, Prince Harry too.

Keeping all these things in mind, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle quit their roles as senior members of the Royal family back in January 2020.
