“I’ve Heard Lots of Different Ideas”: Mark Wahlberg Drops Promising Update for Sequel to Tom Holland’s Uncharted

Mark Wahlberg is one of the most famous personalities on the planet. He is best known for his work in action, drama, and comedy movies. As far as accolades go, he has a BAFTA Award and nominations for two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, nine Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards under his name. 

Mark Wahlberg made his acting debut with Renaissance Man, and it almost instantly solidified his name in Hollywood. After that, he appeared in many films, such as Planet of the Apes, The Departed, The Fighter, Ted, the Transformers franchise, etc., and gained global popularity. One such film is Uncharted which was released in 2022.

Marl Wahlberg claims the script for the sequel of Uncharted is being worked on

Mark Wahlberg recently appeared for an interview with The Direct where he opened up about his upcoming movie with Tom Holland, Uncharted 2. There has been a lot of anticipation surrounding the sequel since the release of its first part and it looks like the makers are working on the movie’s script. 

“I’ve heard lots of different ideas. I know somebody’s written a script, and they’re still working on it, and it would consist of having the mustache the whole entire time. Which completely makes sense; obviously, in that final scene, I have the mustache.”

Mark Wahlberg played the role of Victor Sullivan in the Tom Holland-starrer Uncharted. Interestingly, he donned a clean-shaven look as opposed to the gaming counterpart of his character. However, at the end of the first movie, he is seen with a mustache in the post-credit scene.

Who will be on Uncharted 2 apart from Mark Wahlberg?

Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Nathan’s mentor and father figure, Victor Sullivan, will be coming back for sure. Sophia Ali, who plays the role of the treasure hunter Chloe Frazer, is also expected to make a return. It is worth noting that in the Uncharted 2 game, she briefly played Nate’s love interest. It was expected that the romance would take place in the first movie, however, Nate and Chole ended up as enemies since Nate tricked Chloe about the location of the treasure. 

In the post-credits scene, the first movie also teased the return of Nate’s brother, Sam. However, there has been no confirmation as to who will play the role as of now. Uncharted second credit scene also showed Pilou Asbæk as the new villain called Gage. While a release date for the sequel hasn’t been announced as of yet, it will be interesting to see how it performs at the box office.
