“I’ve just had two biopsies”: Hugh Jackman Shares Shocking Health Update as Wolverine Actor Hints His Skin Cancer Has Returned
Wolverine is well known for not being bogged down by any injury. No ailment of the body, not even old age, could take down one of the most potent mutants out there. But those days seem to be a thing of the past. He has finally met his match, as Hugh Jackman’s skin cancer marks a return. The Prestige star’s tryst with Basal Cell Carcinoma has been well-documented. And he wants to ensure that people don’t share the same fate as him. After first getting treated in 2013 for skin cancer, he has been very vocal about how to deal with the problem.
How it all started
It all started in 2013 when Hugh Jackman‘s wife Deborra-Lee Furness pointed out the presence of spots on his body that Jackman came to know that he was going through something. What followed was his getting the cancer removed from his nose. But that wouldn’t be the end of the story.
It was 2014. The shooting of X-Men: Days of Future Past was in full swing. Recollecting what happened at the time, The Greatest Showman star told PEOPLE that a make-up artist pointed out to him that there were “some spots in his nose”.
The menace would not go away so easily.
Hugh Jackman at risk of having skin cancer
Years down the lane, Jackman has been reminded of the dread he faced at the time. Taking to Instagram, the 54-year-old shared that he has got two biopsies done in the recent past. He said in an Instagram reel,
“So, I wanted you to hear it from me, just in case someone sees me on the street or whatever. I’ve just had two biopsies done. I just went to my doctor, Dr. Iron, who’s awesome. And she just saw little things, could be or could not be basal cell in her opinion. She doesn’t know.”
He relieved his fans around the world, reminding them that basal cell carcinoma is the least dangerous form of skin cancer. But that is not the only message he had for the world.
Hugh Jackman’s message for the world
Hugh Jackman issued a warning to the world at large, reminding them how basal cell carcinoma is a result of their past deeds only. The Logan star asked his fans to “wear some sunscreen” with the summer approaching.
He said,
“It is just not worth it. No matter how much you want to tan, trust me… This is all stuff that happened 25 years ago. It’s coming out now. Put some sunscreen on. You’ll still have an incredible time out there. Please be safe.”
It remains to be seen how people heed his advice. Meanwhile, his fans profusely wished him for his health.
