“I’ve made a ton of movies”: $400M Rich Tom Hanks Believes Not All The Movies He Worked On Are Up To The Mark
Hollywood’s acclaimed actor and filmmaker, Tom Hanks impressive career spans numerous blockbusters. His breakthrough roles include many iconic characters that are etched in the memories of movie buffs even today. Recently, the Oscar-winning actor surprised everyone when he revealed the reason why he believes only four of his movies make up to the list of “pretty good.”

Tom Hanks takes on his movies
The 67-year-old actor revealed in an interview with People that he does not think very highly of his movies. Hanks produced and directed tons of movies to date but only considers that four of them are capable of being called “pretty good.” He further explained the art of filmmaking and how the idea is generated on the screen.
“I’ve made a ton of movies (and four of them are pretty good, I think) and I’m still amazed at how films come together. From a flicker of an idea to the flickering image onscreen, the whole process is a miracle.”
Hanks’s two movies have a miraculous 100% rating score on Rotten Tomatoes (Toy Story and Toy Story 2) and are popular among critics and fans alike.

Tom Hanks remarkable Career
A recipient of numerous accolades and titles, Tom Hanks is also the fourth-highest-grossing actor in North America. Starring in over 100 films, Hanks also pulled off excellence as a filmmaker. His notable performances include the titular character of Forrest Gump (1994), and Philadelphia (1993) for which he won Academy Awards for Best Actor consecutively. Other megahits are The Green Mile (1999), Cast Away (2000), Road to Perdition (2002) and Cloud Atlas (2012).
The dual Oscar-winning actor also penned a novel, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece, which unfolds the steps of filmmaking.
Speaking about his book, Hanks explained that people have the illusion that they know how a movie is made, though in reality, it’s way different than the perception.
“The source for a movie can go back as many years as are in history. A story turns on a single moment in the life of someone, and then all the anecdotes of the current day magnify that moment.
Going back to 1947 makes sense, as would have starting in, say, 1559. Human yearning has proven to be timeless.”

Tom Hanks new series gets a release date, First Look unveiled
Tom Hanks is gearing up for his upcoming TV series, Masters of the Air, which is slated to release next year in January. The series, based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name will be premiering on Apple TV+
Produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman – The series is a period drama revolving around World War II and will comprise of 9 episodes. Set in wartime England – You can expect the series to portray the survival struggles of the brave men of the Airforce unit and how they fight back against the brutal Nazi propaganda and Hitler’s Third Reich.
Speaking about the new series to Apple TV, executive director Gary Goetzman gave insights into the storyline.
“Masters of the Air is a salute to the brave men of the 8th Air Force, who, through their courage and brotherhood, helped defeat Nazi Germany in World War II.”
On October 5, Apple TV+ launched the first look of their highly anticipated war drama. The stellar cast includes Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, and Barry Keoghan.
