- Jacob Elordi has debuted a new look with beard and long hair recently.
- His appearance might be a part of his preparation for Euphoria Season 3.
- Euphoria Season 3 will definitely feature a time jump and production is set to begin next year.
Jacob Elordi seems to have entered a new era as he took the world by surprise by debuting his new beard and long hair look. This is unlike anything fans have witnessed before, so the shock was unavoidable. Once they recovered from it, they expressed all sorts of thoughts about this new look, and not all of them were holy.
Now, Elordi is not someone who suffers from an imperfect jawline so it makes one wonder the reason behind this unexpected change in his appearance. There is a possibility that he is personally experimenting with his looks, but considering how in demand he is at the moment, it is hard to imagine that he has let his hair grow out for any reason other than a new project he is undertaking. The time jump rumors in the Euphoria 3 storyline seem to align with this look of his.
Jacob Elordi’s New Look Coincides with the Beginning of Euphoria 3‘s Production
Jacob Elordi ventured into Hollywood as a professional actor a little over half a decade ago with his first credited acting role in the Australian film, Swinging Safari. He went on to earn recognition for his role as one of the two love interests in the Netflix film series, The Kissing Booth. Following this, he struggled to find work and auditioned for the HBO show, Euphoria considering it his last audition before giving up on acting altogether.
Luckily, he landed the role of the troubled teenager, Nate Jacobs in Euphoria. The period leading up to 2023 seemed to be busy for him as five of his movies were released that year. From the biopic Priscilla, in which he played legendary musician Elvis Presley, to the class satire Saltburn, Elordi was a man on a mission to prove his acting range.
Recently, he appeared as part of the jury for the prestigious Marrakech Film Festival, and this is when he debuted his full beard and long, flowing hair. Assuming that he is getting ready to take up his next on-screen character, there are not many that he would need this kind of appearance.
The most recent projects he is known to have wrapped filming on are Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix horror film, Frankenstein, and a miniseries adaptation of the novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North. So, that leaves just one project, Euphoria Season 3 which will be going into production next year, according to a statement a representative for HBO gave to The Independent.
Euphoria Season 3’s Time Jump Might Be the Reason Behind Jacob Elordi Growing Out His Hair
While there is no telling what could possibly be why Elordi grew out his hair and beard, Euphoria 3 is worth a shot. This is because production is set to begin next year and because the time jump was confirmed earlier this year.
While in Paris for the House of the Dragon premiere, chairman and CEO of HBO and Max content, Casey Bloys, told Variety about the time jump Euphoria creator and writer, Sam Levinson, is planning.
There’s been a lot of back and forth … One of the issues I think that Sam [Levinson] is thinking about is that he doesn’t want to have it in high school anymore. That’s where it was set and what made sense then. So when you take it out of that, there’s a lot of back and forth about where to set it and how far in the future to set it and all that stuff.
When asked if there would be a change in the cast, Bloys clarified that the cast will remain the same. At this time, there is no confirmation about how far in the future the characters will end up in the upcoming season, but there is a good chance that Elordi’s new look is in preparation for that.
