James Gunn Gets Death Threats Over Rocket Raccoon
Over on Twitter, James Gunn received a ominous message from one of his followers. It said:
“soon warning, if u kill the Rocket Raccoon in the guardians of the galaxy vol.3, YOU WILL DIE”
Gunn shared the tweet and took the tweet in his stride. He remarked that:
“I’m also gonna die if I don’t kill Rocket Raccoon.”
Gunn said in a later tweet that getting death threats over a CGI Raccoon of all things was actually “more understandable than SOME of the nonsense [he’s] received death threats over!”. But he was quick to switch tones and point to the seriousness of the matter after another follower said that the original messenger implied that he’d die “quicker” if he killed off Rocket. Gunn said that:
“Ok I know the death threats are supposed to be jokes but let’s stop it with them now.”
Will Rocket Raccoon Really Die In Guardians Of The Galaxy 3?
It might upset some fans that the beloved raccoon will pass away in the next Guardians movie but sending death threats to directors and creators is never okay.
Is it certain that Rocket will die? We will not know till the movie arrives. Is there a strong possibility that he will be the one to die? Kinda yes. After all Rocket is currently the only member of the team who has never once died in an MCU movie. While his friends all found their way back to the world of the living either though timey wimey solutions or alternate realities, but something tells us that Gunn is planning for a more permanent death this time and it will probably be Rocket.
But there’s no need to panic now since Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has no release date for now. But it is said to be set before Thor: Love and Thunder.
