James Gunn’s 1 Confession Proves Brandon Sklenar’s Batman Fancasting Has Real Potential to Turn Into an Actual DCU Role
- Fans have been rooting for Brandon Sklenar to be cast as Batman.
- James Gunn once made a confession that suggests Sklenar's casting as Batman might happen.
- Sklenar has once again expressed his support for It Ends with Us co-star Blake Lively.
James Gunn is the man behind some of the best superhero movies to have been made. He has been sharing the responsibility of steering the DCU in the right direction with DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran for almost a year now. Things have finally started to look up for the franchise with the rave reactions to the first trailer teaser for Superman, starring Hollywood actor David Corenswet as the titular superhero.
However, the casting for Batman has yet to be announced. While fans eagerly await the official reveal, many have taken to creating their own fancasts for the iconic role. One actor that they really want to see as the character is Brandon Sklenar, and a confession Gunn once made about fancastings proves that Sklenar does have a chance to portray the Caped Crusader.
James Gunn’s confession about fancastings prove that Brandon Sklenar could become DCU’s Batman
Given James Gunn’s expertise in comic book superheroes and filmmaking, fans can trust his decisions for the DCU. When news of Corenswet’s casting first broke, many were unconvinced, as Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Superman in the Snyderverse was considered close to perfect.
On the other hand, the Pearl actor was still a relatively unknown face in the industry. Luckily, things seems to have worked in Corenswet’s favor now as fans are quite excited about his turn as Superman. Similarly, some fans were rooting for Robert Pattinson’s Batman to join the DCU, but James Gunn has debunked that myth.
That said, there have also been some fancastings for the role of the Dark Knight, and one of them is for New Girl star Brandon Sklenar. Here is what some of them had to say:

34, 6’2, a good actor, and has got the Bruce Wayne look down for sure. He’s even got blue eyes.🤷♀️ pic.twitter.com/MjiNeSSmrb
Well, Gunn might not have to look any further than these castings if a confession he made over a year ago is anything to go by.
It is not often that fancastings actually work out. At least we know that Gunn pays heed to what fans have to say, and if he chooses to go with this fancasting, it will be a win-win for everyone including Sklenar who has been manifesting the role.
Brandon Sklenar has expressed his support for It Ends with Us co-star Blake Lively
Blake Lively’s reputation took a huge hit earlier this year while she was promoting her movie It Ends with Us. The movie, based on Colleen Hoover’s eponymous novel, deals with sensitive topics like domestic abuse, but Lively did not seem to be talking about it at all, which fans found extremely odd.
Many boarded the hate train against her over the months and she did not address any of it as people continued to side with her co-star Justin Baldoni. Brandon Sklenar, who also starred in the movie, was quick to come to Lively’s defense and posted a lengthy statement about the same on Instagram.
After the Gossip Girls star accused Baldoni of s*xual harassment and smear campaign recently, Sklenar has once again expressed his support for Lively by posting the complaint she filed against her co-star and Wayfarer Studios (via Variety). The 1923 star put the complaint on his Instagram story and wrote, “For the love of God read this,” and tagged the actress with a heart emoji.
