“Jamie almost died and he doesn’t seem to be himself”: Jamie Foxx is Reportedly Scaring Everyone in His Life With His Wedding Plans
Actor Jamie Foxx, who is regarded as one of the best in the business, caused a stir in April when it was announced that he had been admitted to the hospital following an unspecified emergency health crisis. The actor eventually assured the public in a statement that he was alright, but the abrupt hospitalization that occurred while he was filming a movie starring Cameron Diaz did cause a lot of anxiety among his cast mates, friends, and viewers.
In the upcoming courtroom drama The Burial, Jamie Foxx will play real-life attorney Willie Gray alongside Tommy Lee Jones. The film, which is based on the inspirational true tale of Willie Gray and his client Jeremiah O’Keefe, recently had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. It will be released in a few theaters in October. Friends of the star, though, are concerned for him. Let’s find out why.
Jamie Foxx’s plans to get married to girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp
Spider-Man actor Jamie Foxx earlier this year scared everyone when it was reported that he had been hospitalized due to a medical complication which has not been disclosed yet but it has now been said that the sudden health scare did give the actor a different perspective on life and he has been acting accordingly.
According to reports by MARCA, a source had shared with the National Enquirer that the actor’s health scare made him think and change his way of seeing life and he is now considering getting married to his girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp. The source said,
“The fact that he was about to die has really woken him up to his own mortality. He is now very aware that it could all be over in an instant. He’s started saying he wants to settle down. He’s scaring everyone in his life. They’re worried he’s going to marry Alyce just because that’s who he’s with now. Now he’s excited about making Alyce his wife and people think he’s being impetuous.”
The news comes off as the contrary, as the actor had repeatedly deferred the marriage question to longtime girlfriend Katie Holmes, which eventually led the couple to go their separate ways in 2019 and is now making plans to get married.
Jamie Foxx’s plans to get married has got his close ones worried
According to reports by Radar Online, the sudden change of plans and wanting to settle down with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp has got Foxx’s friends and family worried, adding that since he recovered from the medical complication in April this year, the actor has not been the same person.
A close friend shared, “Jamie almost died and he doesn’t seem to be himself since then. He seems like a different guy since he got out of the hospital.”
Things have been going well for the couple as Huckstepp has been the one who stood by the actor and has acted as a huge support to him throughout his recovery process. The two of them have been dating for a little over a year now and things are getting serious for them. US Weekly reported,
“Aside from his family, Alyce has been a huge source of support throughout his recovery process. She makes him really happy and they spend as much time together as possible. They’ve told one another they love each other, and they have an amazing time whenever they’re together. Alyce has a great sense of humor, so she’s able to keep up with Jamie. They have a very playful banter and she keeps him on his toes, which he loves.”

Jamie Foxx notes he doesn’t think he is the ‘marrying type’
Back in 2021, in his memoir, Act Like You Got Some Sense: And Other Things My Daughters Taught Me, the actor gave the audience some insight into his personal life, his relationship with his daughters, and his honest opinion on marriage and love. He prefers shorter partnerships over matrimony.
Foxx writes in his memoir via People, “Because I’ve had two children without being married to their mothers, the subject of marriage has hovered over my head in one way or another for years. Everyone’s been asking me about getting married—my daughter’s mothers, people in my family, strangers on the street, even Oprah (we’ll get to her).”
Jamie Foxx continued to write, “I’ve just never been convinced that marriage was a good idea for me. I’ve had friends that have great marriages, others not so much. And it never seemed like marriage was necessary to raise my children in a safe and loving atmosphere.”
The actor said that he just doesn’t think he’s the marrying type, at least for now, adding that maybe in a few decades when he’s in a wheelchair and need somebody to push him around and change his diaper. The actor is father to Corrine Foxx, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Connie Kline, and Anelise Bishop, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Kristin Grannis.
