“That was never my intent”: Jamie Foxx Blames Fake Friend’s Betrayal For His Anti-semitic Post, Says He Loves the Jewish Community
Marvel star Jamie Foxx often hits the headlines with updates about his career. This time around, however, he was the in the talks due to a controversial Instagram post that was seen on his account last Friday. The post has now been deleted but it received massive backlash from fans and critics alike.
Even FRIENDS star Jennifer Aniston got herself into the controversy because she had liked Foxx’s offensive post. Foxx took to his Instagram once again to clarify the situation, followed by Aniston, who has made it very clear that she doesn’t support hate of any kind.
Jamie Foxx Apologized for the Controversial Instagram Post
Not so long ago, James Foxx had been the subject of fans’ sympathy due to his medical condition that was announced by his daughter in April 2023. However, in May 2023, amidst rumors that the White House Down star is gravely ill, his daughter let everyone know that her father is out of the hospital and has been recovering well.
Recently, the same fans who had been wishing for the actor’s well-being bullied him into deleting an Instagram post that had antisemitic undertones, only for Jamie Foxx to apologize saying that the post had nothing to do with Jews or antisemitism. He wrote:
“I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent.”

The actor also explained himself saying that the post that seemed to be offensive was actually addressing the “betrayal by a fake friend”. He also went on to say that he has nothing but love in his heart, and he loves and supports the Jewish community. He even offered his deepest apologies to anyone who was offended.
Jamie Foxx Was Almost Canceled by The Internet for The Post
Jamie Foxx’s apology came right in time to save him from the wrath of social media users. Although he had deleted the Instagram post after realizing his mistake, the post had already been screenshotted and shared on Twitter, so him deleting the post wasn’t really going to save him, had he not apologized.
The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor was likened to rapper and designer Kanye West who lost his Twitter account last fall due to his clearly antisemitic post. In other words, Foxx was the new target of the internet’s cancel culture that often causes people to completely disappear from social media, and sometimes rightly so.
Kanye West had been suspended by owner Elon Musk on grounds of spreading violence. After 8 long months, the Stronger has got his Twitter account back, but certainly not the trust of the people whom he offended with his antisemitic views.
