Jamie Foxx to Make Triumphant Comeback With Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man Co-Star After Massive Health Scare That Left Fans Concerned
Jamie Foxx’s silence over his health condition early in the summer left his fans puzzled after reports emerged he was admitted to the hospital in April for an undisclosed reason. It took a number of scary weeks for his fans before they got to hear from the man himself.
In July, Foxx broke his silence and suggested he went through some very serious health crisis. He further explained that little detail regarding his condition was made public because he didn’t want his fans to see him in such a situation.
Nevertheless, the Oscar-winning actor is fine now and his fans are going to see him exactly where he wants: on the big screen.
What Will Be Jamie Foxx’s Comeback Movie After Health Scare
Talking about his health situation and the recovery process, Jamie Foxx revealed he went to hell and back before being able to work again. On that note, after a ride through hell, the Baby Driver is set to return to the screens in the role of God.
The 55-year-old will play the deity in the comedy film Not Another Church Movie.
Written and directed by Johnny Mack, the movie focuses on Taylor Pherry, who’s given a mission from God himself: to tell his family’s stories and inspire his community.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Foxx be a part of this hilarious comedy and bring his incredible talent to the role of God,” producer James Michael Cummings told Deadline. “This film is a unique blend of new and established talent, and we can’t wait to hear the laughs and for audiences to see the magic that happens on the big screen. This movie will not disappoint.”
The movie is expected to drop in theaters in the fourth quarter of 2023. Foxx’s fans can also hope to catch him on Netflix in the movie titled Back in Action. He was hospitalized in April while filming the movie that is also set to mark the return of Cameron Diaz. No formal date has been announced for the premiere of the comedy movie.

Iron Man 2 Villain to Play Devil Opposite Jamie Foxx
As Taylor, after the commands from God, tries to follow up on a holy mission, he will have to face the Devil in Not Another Church Movie.
The role of the Devil will be played by Mickey Rourke and he will face off against Foxx in a heavenly setting – a pleasant change for the 70-year-old who found himself battling Robert Downey Jr‘s Tony Stark in much more harsh conditions as Whiplash in Iron Man 2.
Whiplash, also known as Ivan Vanko, was a merciless Russian physicist looking to avenge his father’s death as penniless man due to the actions of Tony’s father, Howard Stark. Whiplash’s line “If you can make God bleed, the people will cease to believe in him” was really striking in the movie.
It’ll be interesting to see what Rourke says about God in a more light-hearted movie.
