Jenna Ortega gains a reputation as a ‘diva’ on Beetlejuice 2 sets

According to reports by Radar Online, the young actress Jenna Ortega has gained popularity after she starred in Netflix’s Wednesday as Wednesday Addams and Scream movies. Despite being young, she is one of the most talked about actresses in the industry. Her upcoming project; Beetlejuice 2 has not only been one of the highly awaited projects but also a great opportunity for her to work alongside Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Willem Dafoe, and Catherine O’Hara.

But the reports went ahead to claim that the actress’ ‘oversized ego’ has caused a stir on the set of the movie but she is just being herself. A source shared with Radar Online,

“Jenna is cocky, confident, and born to do this kind of work. She loves being the center of a high-pressure production with some of the biggest names in the industry.”

Further in reports, the insider claims;

“These are the people who collectively have decades and decades more experience than Jenna, but they’ve never encountered a natural born-diva like her. She has the talent and she’s built up a huge fan base but she won’t be winning any Miss Congeniality prizes for her attitude on set.”

The insider lastly added that the young actress is there to score points and nail the scenes she is in adding that she tries to give her best shot in the first take. Jenna Ortega is not there to make friends but simply to focus on her work and do it in the best way.

Previously, filmmaker Steven DeKnight had slammed the young actress for being entitled and beyond toxic. He stated on Twitter, that the actress is not afraid to throw her colleagues under the bus publicly over any disagreement in writing styles.

The filmmaker gave her a piece of advice to ask herself how would she feel if the showrunners gave an interview about how difficult she was and how she refused to perform the material given to her.

Who is Jenna Ortega playing in Beetlejuice 2?

Jenna Ortega is reportedly playing Winona Ryder’s daughter Lydia Deetz in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2. There hasn’t been much information available about her character as of now but the actress did share a little sneak peek of what the audience can expect from her in the upcoming movie.

Ortega appeared on the red carpet of Emmys 2024 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles in a gorgeous Dior dress as she was nominated for her work on Wednesday. She spoke to Kevin Frazier from ET about the upcoming Beetlejuice 2 and noted,

“It’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a set. It’s visually so exciting. Everything was practical. I think we’re not using very much CGI or something like that at all.”

Ortega says that the cast members including Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and more have done an incredible job and she feels lucky to be a part of the movie. The second youngest woman to be nominated in Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category said that she couldn’t wait for the audience to watch the movie. Beetlejuice 2 is expected to premiere in September 2024.
