It’s been more than a decade since the crowd-pleasing sitcom starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and late actor Matthew Perry concluded. The lead actors are finding it hard to cope with Perry’s demise and regret not being able to do enough for their friend.

The whole world has been devastated since Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing not only left the show but the world through his unexpected and sudden death. The Fools Rush In star lived through a decades-long drink and drug addiction that deteriorated uncontrollably during his time on FRIENDS and was written down in his memoir, Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing.
According to Closer, the co-stars are suffering feelings of regret for not being able to stay with Matthew Perry regularly. The insider revealed: “Jen went straight over to Courteney’s home in the wake of the news and they’ve barely left one another’s side since, as they try to process their emotions.” stating that the actors are in deep sorrow.
“In addition to their grief, they both feel an incredible sense of regret – telling friends how they wish they could have done more to help Matty. After the reunion show [in 2021], they’d all agreed to plan a dinner just the six of them, but despite good intentions, it didn’t happen, and that is something that weighs heavily, not only on Jen and Courteney but on Matt, Lisa, and David, too.”
The whole cast of the mega-hit sitcom knew that Matthew Perry struggled with excessive drug addiction and alcoholism and Jennifer Aniston was the one who figured out when they were shooting for FRIENDS that Matthew Perry was drinking.

Matthew Perry asks Chandler Bing who took his fans on the ride to evolution through his iconic character died after an apparent drowning, aged 54 at his home in Los Angeles. The actor received tributes from all his beloved fans and the entertainment industry including his ex-girlfriend and Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow. The Closer Insider also added:
“They’ve all been speaking constantly and while they know there was nothing that could have been done to save Matt, they just wish they could have done more and the fact that none of them were in touch with him regularly has played on their minds.”
The actors wish they could have spent more time with Matthew Perry as they knew he had been a major target of addiction and alcoholism. The Serving Sara star has elaborated on his battling journey in his memoir and mentioned how his friends were supportive of him especially Jennifer Aniston whom he knew even before their show.
