Jennifer Aniston Ignored Meghan Markle’s Desperation to Become Friends With Her While Shooting a Movie Together
The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly having trouble re-entering the closed-off world of Hollywood a year after leaving her position as a senior royal.
According to an insider, an American member of the Royal family and former actress’ continuous endeavor to get close to her former co-star Jennifer Joanna Aniston is just one such instance of how the royal’s attempts to make A-list friends have failed. In contrast, reports claim that Meghan Markle and Jennifer Aniston have similar interests in yoga and dogs.
In some ways, it is therefore not surprising that the Murder Mystery star and Markle were eager to establish a ‘meaningful friendship’ when recent reports of Jen purchasing a home in the community where the Duchess resides with her husband, Prince Harry.
However, if rumors of conflict between the two women in the past are true, things may be more complicated than they appear on the screen.
It was not a good start for Meghan Markle and Jennifer Aniston
It all began in 2011 when Jennifer Aniston played the pansexual nymphomaniac character in the film Horrible Bosses, in which Prince Harry’s wife was given a small part.
According to reports, Meghan Markle expressed excitement at the prospect of working with her favorite Friends character at the time and even expressed the wish that they would end up becoming good friends. That wasn’t exactly how things turned out, though. The We’re the Millers actress was someone that Markle admired and wished she could be close friends with, according to a source who spoke with New Idea.
“That didn’t even come close to happening – Jen barely even noticed she was there, and Meghan was devastated to find out her part had been cut to a mere 30 seconds.”
The Duchess of Sussex allegedly got “so upset” that her part was smaller and disparaged the entire movie, saying Jennifer Aniston was a “better” actress than her.
The source went on to add,
“Most people just thought it was sour grapes.
The Friends actress, who turned 54 on February 11, reportedly heard Markle’s comments after she moved to Los Angeles in 2020 and declined her invitation to hang out with the latter. However, they might have already been at odds with one another.
Have they put ‘feud’ behind them for new ‘friendship’ hope?
Despite their eleven-year feud, it has been reported that Jennifer Aniston and Meghan Markle intend to become friends.
The actresses are reportedly eager to develop a ‘meaningful friendship’ after The Switch actress recently purchased a home in the same neighborhood as the Duchess of Sussex. Some reports claim that the first signs of tension appeared in the early 2000s when Markle was just beginning her acting career. According to reports, she also confessed her desire to become “the future Mrs. Pitt.“
This was obviously a reference to Aniston’s former husband, Brad Pitt. The Bounty Hunter actress reportedly found out that and didn’t like the idea of another attractive woman making advances toward her man.
Now as per recent claims, the two women reportedly wanted to get together and become friends despite everything.
The Horrible Bosses 2 star reportedly spent $15 million last year to buy Oprah Winfrey’s sizable estate in the affluent coastal community of Montecito, California. Reports claim that Prince Harry, along with his wife and two kids, also resides in the same neighborhood.
It’s not clear if the two have ever hung out up until this point. Will they ever be friends again?
