Jennifer Garner On Her Three Children And Co-parenting With Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are well-known for being discreet, proud parents. After ten years of marriage, the Yes Day actress and the Gone Girl actor separated in 2015 and divorced three years later. Together, they co-parent their three children: Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel.
Despite being transparent about her workouts, skincare routine, and dietary habits, Jennifer Garner is typically relatively silent about her kids on social media. In reality, she has only ever permitted their portrait to be taken at one formal ceremony, which was in 2018 when Garner received a star on the Walk of Fame.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in March 2021, Garner explained how she handled the unfavorable news coverage of her family by being honest and open with her children.
“When they were smaller and there were things out there that were shocking, my request to them was always, ‘Let Dad and I talk you through whatever it is,’ ” she explained. “I’d tell them, ‘If you see an image on the front of a magazine, I’ll look at it with you and we’ll process all the scary feelings that come up together.‘ “
Garner stated in the interview that she doesn’t have any family photos because her children have always been camera-shy.
Ben Affleck, the two-time Academy Award winner, said that his children’s opinions of him are the only ones that matter when speaking to Good Morning America in December 2021.
Garner admitted to Vanity Fair in her first significant post-divorce interview that while she was still processing their romantic relationship, she and Affleck were “completely in line” with their aspirations for their children.
Garner and Affleck announced they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage in June 2015, when Violet was 9, Seraphina was 6 and Samuel was 3.
