Jennifer Lawrence was Forced into Media Training After Making Controversial Comment About Batman Star
Jennifer Lawrence is one of those actors who went on to earn fame in the entertainment world within a short period of time. The 33-year-old actor even secured an Oscar for Best Actor for Silver Linings Playbook. She is popularly known for her performance in the X-Men series as Mystique.
The actor is known for her unfiltered opinions about her co-stars, movies, and her life due to which she was also forced into media training.
Jennifer Lawrence Was Forced Into Media Training For A Controversial Reason
During an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in 2016, Jennifer Lawrence recalled how a controversial statement about one of her co-stars forced her into media training by her team. According to the actor during the press conference of The Burning Plane in 2008, she almost killed the Batman star Kim Basinger.
The absence of Kim Basinger from the press conference prompted a reporter to enquire about the actor. The Hunger Games actor recounted-
“Kim Basinger wasn’t there, and we were doing an international press conference. So somebody said, ‘Where is Kim Basinger?’ And I just leaned into the microphone and was like, ‘You didn’t hear? Kim died.”
She further continued-
“I got ripped off the stage, thrown into media training. My publicist told me a week ago, ‘Stop telling people they don’t have to see X-Men. I’m always like, ‘I don’t know. If it feels right. No pressure.’”
Jennifer Lawrence even compared herself to Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady. Sometimes her unfiltered and straightforward attitude takes a toll on her.
Not Everyone Is A Fan Of Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique In The X-Men Franchise
Despite being such a talented actor, Jennifer Lawrence’s tiny nephew was unimpressed with her performance as Mystique in the X-Men series. During the promotion of X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016, the actor appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and spoke about her nephew and how she had a tough time convincing him that she is Mystique in the X-Men series.
Being a huge X-Men fan, the actor’s nephew was not ready to believe that his aunt Jennifer Lawrence played the character of Mystique. She said-
“When I was on the phone with the producer for this, I was telling the story and she heard Bear go ‘pfft’ as soon as I said ‘X-Men.’…He hates it, he doesn’t like my work.”
Jennifer Lawrence was last seen in a Netflix comedy-drama No Hard Feelings in 2023.
