Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ On Track to Become Highest Grossing Original R-rated Comedy Since the Pandemic
One of Hollywood’s most adored actresses, Jennifer Lawrence, recently released the film No Hard Feelings, which is doing well with audiences. The wild comedy, which falls under the same genre as movies like Euro Trip and American Pie, has received praise for both Lawrence’s acting and the movie’s humor.
Lawrence plays Maddie, a character in her early 30s who responds to an ad placed by a couple looking for someone to date their shy 19-year-old son in order to build up his confidence before he leaves for college. No one expected it, but No Hard Feelings is on pace to earn more money than any other R-rated comedy since the pandemic began.
No Hard Feelings starring Jennifer Lawrence is smashing the box office
Jennifer Lawrence is a well-known actress in Hollywood and has appeared in some of the biggest blockbusters in recent years, including Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games series. But Lawrence plays a totally different kind of role than she usually plays in her most recent movie, No Hard Feelings, directed by Gene Stupnitsky, a raunchy comedy about a lady who responds to an advertisement to date a shy 19-year-old boy.
The movie is full of awkward s*xual and explicit scenes mixed with humor and comedy. After all, this is a romantic comedy movie with an R rating. And guess what? Lawrence’s first-ever true comedy movie is turning out to be a hit.
Since the film’s release on June 23, 2023, the box office results have been fantastic and completely unanticipated. No Hard Feelings is expected to earn more money than any other R-rated comedy released since the pandemic started. Despite having a $45 million budget, the movie has already made more than $49 million.
The previous film to perform that well at the box office was Gene Stupnitsky’s Good Boys, which was released in 2019. The $20 million budget for Good Boys resulted in a $111 million global revenue.
Netizens predicted No Hard Feelings would be better than The Flash
Before the initial release and immediately after Discussing Film revealed the pre-sales figures for Jennifer Lawrence’s movie, No Hard Feelings, netizens had expressed their delight. One of them took it a step further and said that No Hard Feelings would undoubtedly be “better than The Flash.” The Flash which was released on 16th June has been a box office disaster, and many were utterly let down by the movie.
No Hard Feelings has had a strong start, but it remains to be seen if it will become the most successful R-rated comedy film since the pandemic.
